Topic: Kongai / Big, Ugly "Starter" Label on Kongai Cards, and Compulsory Starter Card Picks

I think fiddlerjones pretty much hit it on the mark. We want to offer Starter cards to new users so they can get into a Kongai game with little or no cards. For older users, this is a great way to fill in the gaps in their decks. We want to make a clear distinction between these freebie cards and the cards that need to be earned, either through challenges or playing Kongai matches.

@dherthen, actually, miniwally is right, all versions of the same card have the same abilities/effects. it’s just the card image we have on the site that needs to be updated (they all basically display conflicting info and design). this should be updated within the next couple of weeks.

oh for sure. the redesign for this page will be pretty fleshed out with new features. grouping cards by character sets is definitely on the list.

yup, we’re planning to redesign the page where you look at your cards. temporarily, we just changed it from stacking the cards on top of each other, to laying it out side by side, so you can view how inconsistent the design has been ;)

@jacksonas, you bring up good points…ideally anything we add to the card shouldn’t cover up the art, but there is no room!! really! we don’t want it to interfere with the display of stats on the bottom, and some character names (like cornelius constantine) take up that whole upper part. hopefully this new “R1” is a good compromise.

@phatcat, i grabbed my avatar from an icon set based on the gundam mobile suit anime. the icon author is talos tsui.

I wouldn’t say Lead, unless Only = Lead. But I tend to answer design forum posts more since I’m more involved with that aspect of the site. @miniwally – btw, I’m a “she” and fortunately don’t have a card layout alarm. =)

Yep, we changed it again, after we saw that it might be distracting in the game when you have buff/debuff icons on your cards. We’ll update all the cards on the site pretty soon so they’ll have the final design!
