Stating the obvious again, Tanks are not OP, every player with even a small amount of tactic can take the average tank out. If you think they’re OP, you probably suck at the game.

Topic: The Last Stand: Dead Zone / Pets

It’s a nice idea, but it’s really just not so realistic, which I believe is the second to main theme of this game so dark and dreary.

Combat pets? Seriously? They’re not cyborgs, I could never ever get my cat to come to me or sit at my command, and I’ve tried training him for over 6 years, how could you possibly deploy things like rats, cats and birds IRL?

Let’s look at what the chances would be to find these animals in a dead zone, remember the setting of the game is almost a full YEAR after the outbreak, how long would a caged pet survive without food and water? 2, 3 days max. Then there’s the zombie infection, we’ve seen zombified dogs, even IF there would be immune dogs out there, how long would it take for them to get eaten by zombies, or by other survivors, or starve, or die of dehydration? An intelligent human with the ability to cleverly fight, run, use guns, and scavenge would have but a small chance, any animal would die unsettlingly fast(Except for birds and rats, but the birds would probably be long-gone to better places, and finding and taming wild rats is something unheard of).

Listen, you shouldn’t get offended so much by simple games. If people brag about being nolifers or try to troll, don’t argue with them, don’t talk to them, ignore them. They can’t hurt what they can’t get.

Yeah i have that time of the month which lasts around 30 days and appears every month when I don’t like “posting pros” who don’t even play long enough to make a proper judgement of all classes :D But that’s just me you know..

(The fact you never got beaten by an assassin in melee, at best by their “potion” shows really outstanding in-game knowledge) I’ll give you the link for “poison” and “potion” meanings in the dictionary if you need. Keep up the good work bro<3

Just because I typo’d ‘poison’ doesn’t mean I’m a bad player. Technically it qualifies as ‘venom’ anyway, because it’s contracted by the assassin attacking YOU.
And I’ve played the assassin a bit yesterday, and I was well-amused by the fact that I managed to mow down a herd of gunners and even some tanks. Opinion recited and changed, assassins are good strike classes for taking down any unit as long as they have tha advantage of first/surprise attack.

All heavy classes – too bad to rank, especially tank and blazer.
I just find the heavy classes “noob classes”. They can get loads of kills, but there is almost no skill in playing them. Once you’ve learned, there’s not far to go to master. But with the scout, there is always a way to get better

Heavy classes ARE hard to master, if they’re not used properly, any other unit can take them down with some or alot of effort. A real good tank can mow down hordes of enemies by himself, a real bad tank(Or average for that matter) is going to have the worst of trouble with even an assassin. Even more so with blasters, who really need to time their attacks out to do any significant dmg. As for blazers, well uh, they suck :D

Proudest moment(s):
One time I got charged by about five light units(A mix between scouts and assassins) who tried chopping me up, I copterbombed them and managed to kill all of them. ’Couple of them got really mad.

Another time I managed to take down a blazer while on 500 health with the gunner, that was faboulous.

And my highest streak was 68, which made me very happy.

EDIT: Killstreak was 83, not 68

@Darkbeat

1. Needlers may be able to keep Poison stacked, but if you can use your guns against an enemy they can also use their gun against you, and the only way they’re not going to focus on you primarily is if in an outrigt battlefield, which assassins will have a hard time surviving.
2. Shockers are supps, even if they have poison immunity, taking them out is quick and easy and basically what assassins are made for.
3. I wasn’t aware of that, I have little experience with tanks.
4. I have not used the assassin enough to confidently post about their use.
5. Totally agree on that, assassins are usually very easy prey for most classes
6. I may just be that good, but I’ve never been taken down by less than 3 scouts at a time(Except for when I still was a newbie :3), and never seen a gunner at full health been solo’ed by a scout or assassin(In messy battles I have, however).

When they kill you, they will sometimes say egolistic and foul words to you.

Believe me, there are many lft-maj peeps, I always play with them.

Topic: Freefall Tournament / Ranking every class. BEST TO WORST CLASS.

I think everyone, including the OP, seems to be missing the point of this thread. It’s not how YOU play with it, but what potential each class has.

Take gunner for example, I may excel with it under normal circumstances, but the average player would have trouble with it’s setup since it lacks both damage and health, while the shatterbomb is extremely good in close combat situations, it’s useless at medium to long distances. The railgun has incredible potential, but aiming it at a moving player is excruciating, and unless you have any real distance on them, chances are you won’t take them down(And don’t get me started on headshots). Against light units like Scouts and Assassins the gunner will be most likely reign superior(Often because of a Copter Spin/Shatterbomb combo which knocks enemies back far enough to open up fire). The ability to go full auto chips away damage from heavier units like tanks while leaving the gunner with decent mobility to dodge explosives, but the lack of speed requires stealth and a good reflex to escape any chaser. This makes the gunner a good all rounder and backup, but far from capable of controlling the battlefield all on it’s own, although it gets kudos for the multiple AoE attacks.

The scout on the other hand is built for speed and lightning-quick heavy hits, a scout’s mobility makes it perfect for rushing across the battlefield and taking down supports, while it’s sensor-evade and aiming-debuff bomb proves great for weakening a group of enemies. What scouts excel in with offensive, they lack on the defensive part; heavier units, scouts have a hard time dealing with. Without the ability to rush them and take them down quickly they’ll often take tons of damage(Especially against blazers and blasters, tanks’ blitzkrieg mauler can also quickly dock them if not careful) or even perish. Multiple scouts will often utterly annihilate heavy units though. Scouts aren’t exactly the core of a good team, but having one or two will prove very useful for dealing damage to enemies before a full-out crossfire, Kudos for the overhead slash attack with the ‘R’ button.

The assassin is another light unit, but even more so inclined to taking down supportive classes hiding behind enemy lines(Even a lowly skilled assassin can dish out some real damage to the supports). The poison takes away the necessity of fighting an enemy until it’s dead, stacking it up enough means that you can hit ‘n run back to base and just wait your enemy out. The needlers aren’t very practical weapons at all, the mags are small and the poison is the only real reason for using them, unless you’re fighting someone using melee(Tanks can sometimes smash you with the blitzkrieg mauler if you’re unwary). The cloaking allows for increased stealth, meaning that you can just dodge the heavy units and go straight for the Tech or Shocker buffing everyone, but cloaking is only really useful for getting trough a battlefield, trying to run past an enemy that isn’t focused on fighting someone else, often means getting spotted and killed. Again, assassins aren’t vital for victory whatsoever, but even one will be a great help for taking down healers and can possibly mean the difference between victory and defeat. Kudos for Knyphoon with ‘R’

Tanks are heavy units, they’re slow and unagile, but very, very, dangerous. Tanks are defensive units; placing them at choke points means enemies will have a very hard time getting trough. Tanks naturally are buddies with the Tech and the Shocker, both being capable of extending its lifespan tremendously(Sometimes effectively making them a brick wall to get trough). Their slowness and low accuracy makes them easy prey for snipers though, so be wary of those, using the buckler can make the tank effective cover for supportive offensive units(A gunner behind a tank can dish out tons of damage without getting mortally wounded). Also good for leading charges.

Blasters are offensive units, like the tank, they’re slow and unagile, but their AoE attacks make them good for targeting offenders and supports at the same time. Their multi-grenade attack also serves well for temporarily stunning lighter units like scouts. I’ve not used this class too much, so I’m not completely sure to what extend their defensive capabilities prove useful, but they’re definetly a force to be reckoned with.

Shockers are support units, capable of keeping teammates’ shield up, possibly creating a brick wall(Especially when duo’d with tanks). They are very unnefective on the offense, and not very fun to play with(Getting kills is the thrill), and most players underestimate their value(Compared to the tech, anyway), but they ARE very important. The Aegis shield can give allied players a break from the battle for a quick heal or to cover other supports, but is easily spotted and targeted by others, it’d be wise to have someone guard it (along with the shocker, who needs to be present to keep it charged).

Teches are the main healers of the team, and definetly invaluable to a good team, they can heal teammates up fully, taking away the need to reach a heal. The surpressor turrets can be deployed to guard a certain choke point, being capable of keeping lighter units at bay. Not much further commentary on it though, a good backup, nothing else really.

Blazers are real monsters, they can turn the tides of the game completely on their own, they deal tons of damage along with DoT, AND can hit at long distances with the heat ray, on defensive positions they can guard an entire area by themselves, and on the offense they will be able to take down tons of enemies, in and after death. The only real drawbacks are speed and ammo, reloading is fast though and speed can be compensated with flying and gliding. The flame grenade isn’t really useful all by itself, being quite underpowered since it is easily dodged, but can be used on chokepoints to keep light units at bay. A living fortress, kudos for infrared.

There’s most of them, I will not continue this list, and it is not a top-X list, it’s just stating what they can and can’t and should and shouldn’t be used for, cheers.

Topic: CS Portable / Players Vs. Bots and others

This game is great sofar, but 500K and 3.000 kills(and deaths) later I’m starting to get bored, so I’m suggesting these things to keep the game interesting for veterans.

1. Add a Player vs. Bot option.
The title is self-explanatory, being capable to do multiplayer campaigns against bots is very fun, I know that Zombie survival is similar, but I’m not talking about zombies. I’m talking about new levels with a backstory(Terrorists have invaded a mall and taken hostages, etc.) in which a team of players fighting as either SWAT of Terrorists fights intelligent bots with equal power and tactics as players.

This means that bots will need an AI tweak, making them capable to camp, go in teams, drop and take weapons, use grenades and snipers, sneak and place C4. But that should be all possible for the CS crew, seeing as they’re boss and all.

2.Add a level system and add permanent games.
The rank system is great since you can recognize stronger players in your team. But it’s only decorational sofar. So make a level system depending on how good you play. When gaining kills, planting C4, winning matches etc. You will gain EXP, at a certain amount of EXP you will go to the next level(And Rank).
The permanent games will be for different level classes and can only be played by players with the correct levels(Level 1-3 servers for noobs, level 10-15 for pros, etc.).

3.Link a weapons and tiers system to the levels.
This also is self-esplanatory, at higher levels you unlock better weapons(Hunting rifle for level 1-3, Snipers for 10-15. Double barrel shotguns for lower tiers, XM’s for higher ones etc.)
Weapons should also be upgradeable in clip size, laser sights, mufflers, etc. As to make night missions and sneaking more interesting.

4.Make a singleplayer campaign.
This has been asked for a thousand times already, but this game really deserves a campaign somewhere around singleplayer, following the carrier of a soldier or something.

5. Add bots to PvP matches.
This one is self-explanatory too, small matches with only 2 or 3 players could use bots to be made more interesting

6. Add a class system,
This should really make the game more fun! You can implement different player roles, or atleast make skills upgradeable.
If classess are not an option, atleast add an option for healing in multiplayer.

also PvE means player vs exploration, rigth?
so
PvE PvP
medic:blade sniper
warrior: melle melle
scavanger:melle shotgun
raccon:sniper sniper
enginier:melle melle?
leader:? ?
i level 9 but i still a noob,i never have a PvP match,i need moar information please.

First of all, you can only have 10 survivors INCLUDING leader in your compound, so this formation is impossible.

Secondly, scavengers may be useful in the beginning, but later on you’ll learn that every single unit can scavenge, just a little longer, but with some good cover there’ll be no problem.

the Formation i’m gonna go with:
4 warriors
3 recons
1 leader
1 medic
and the last unit will be depending on what I want at the time,

Lastly:
PvE means Player vs. Enviroment.
You spelled melee wrong.

Topic: The Last Stand: Dead Zone / Suggesgons On the Game (actually turned into an idea box so post away)

Here’s my share of opinions:

Idle survivors in your compound should perform actions like eating, sleeping, drinking, cleaning weapons etc.

Since you’re in the middle of a city, zombie attacks should be much more common(around every hour a small attack, and less often bigger hordes)
and I would love it if sometimes a random zombie would stumble into your compound.

Weather should play a role in missions, food and water production, survivor efficienty while fighting etc.

Furthermore, when completing all requirements for a new survivor you should get a quest to go to a certain building/park/street.etc to recruit him/her.

And lastly you should be capable to occupy a different compound with different layout(Taking over a residence, hospital, supermarket, street etc.)

Places
-—————————————-
Gas Station
This would be a place that contains a lot of cars and double the chance for fuel rate. However, due to large fat cake rates, there is a lot of fat zombies and +1 to zombie level.

Graveyards
Areas with lots of zombies. Meant to be a training place with little/no loot and an extremely short or long timers.

Junkyards
Fields and fields of junk. Lots of zombies, too, due to discarded meat or something.

Farms/Factories/Water Filtering Areas
Areas with more food than water or vice-verca. Doesn’t contain much due to being a high priority for looting in the beginning of the apocalypse.

Power Plants/ Special hospitals
Places containing junk but linked to the storyline aspect (Powerplants mysteriously shutting down, discovery of the zombie virus)

Most of these are good ideas, except for the graveyard having zombies en masse.
Infected human beings would reanimate far before they could be buried in a graveyard so logic dictates that graveyards would actually be pretty much empty of zombies.
Even if a zombie would be buried in a graveyard, it could never claw itself out of the box into the ground.
