If you didn’t plan on it, it might be the only thing that could save this game.

@Corrupt0 Then fanbase pretty much is the game unless it’s singleplayer.

I agree that good games grow from the community and we do take your feedback and work them into the game. Yes, it’s been a delay in new content, but the game is still alive and we are still creating content for it.

Please, when was the last time you implemented an idea from the community?
Also, you have a weird definition of delay, like Sean said, the community’s in a coma.. And it’s getting really tempting to pull the plug, isn’t it?
Last I heard you were working on Tyrant, that’s not helping this game, from the looks of it Tyrant’s fine how it is for the most part, but you guys never fail to tinker things to death.

Games come and go, son. Tyrant has problems as much as Skyshard has. The problem being the lack of players that play this still.

Runescape and World of Warcraft would love to prove you wrong. lmao

Okay, I understand insta repair happens sometimes. But it just happened to me 2 times in a row on the same base causing me to lose more troops and NOT take the base. This is just stupid, after my 3rd attack it stayed damaged too which is more irritating.

Syn, you owe me 15 fame and 320k food for this bullshit.

Honestly an amazing post. He went beyond most players, instead of complaining he actually suggested, and tbh he has some REALLY good suggestions. Ofc needs to be modified to be reasonable, but still great.

-World Map – Late January
We will be implementing a World Map which displays all players towns. This will include searching options to find other player’s towns. The World Map will serve as the basis for additional feature changes, including Raids and Conquest Season 4.

Personally, I believe this started out as a good thing, much more selective targeting, and a wide range of opportunities.. However, at this point I don’t think it’s capable of containing all the shit that’s being shoved into it. Player towns and AI? GREAT! Now Assets and possibly CQ? Nooooo. It lags too much as it is, in my opinion.

-Level Normalization – Late January
We will be moving “XP” to more of a vanity stat and changing the way levels are calculated. Levels will now be more representative of power level, calculated as the sum of Building, Hero, and Unit levels. This will provide a more fine-grained power level than the current Citadel-based system, which changes abruptly when going from (for example) Citadel 5 to Citadel 6.
The new intended level cap will be about Level 50. Many players will go up in level, and several will drop in level. However, this will not result in any functional difference except the range of players you can attack and be attacked by.

Very good update! Works very well, and surprisingly hasn’t backfired. I applaud you guys for this one. Too bad we haven’t got an update like this since.

-Configurable Towers – February
To make defenses truly configurable and add another level of strategic depth, we are planning on allowing all towers to be changed to whatever the player wants – Mage, Archer, Flame, etc. This also gives us the ability to introduce new tower types (such as Lightning and Gatling) without increasing the total number of towers per town. All existing towers will persist (so nobody will lose any towers) but will be able to be switched.
This will require a significant rebalance as some towers are currently much more powerful than others. We will enlist significant player feedback on this, likely with a public test server.

This update was ditched, instead we got 25% more powerful towers and LT. I was REALLY wanting to be able to customize my shit, but no. No player customization, despite the fact this type of game should have more of it.

-Raids – Late February
With configurable towers adding another level of depth, we will refocus on collaborative PvE content that will offer exclusive rewards (such as new Tower blueprints and additional Contracts). Raids will be similar to the Guulak and Gunjack events, but will require collaboration amongst several players to defeat them. They will be limited time events but initiated by players rather than one-off global events. They will also be aimed primarily as end-game content (for high-level players) rather than as content for all player levels. However, we will also try to introduce a small amount of raid content for low-level players to give a taste of high-end gameplay.

Bunch of hard as shit missions that only Colette & Jacks/Rangers or Keris can beat. I don’t use either so I don’t like this too much, and also I think we need more than 2 raids.. HURRY UP WITH THE THIRD AND MAKE IT GOOD!

-Conquest 4 – around March
Conquest Season 4 will be focused heavily on integration with the World Map, and will also be playable by players without guilds. We will do away with the generic grid and will instead add more interesting strategic assets that can be taken over by anyone. Some strategic assets may offer sovereignty over regions on the World Map and give bonuses to allied players within a certain range. Other assets may provide additional resources or components for the Forge. Others still may give exclusive access to special raid content. This is still in preliminary design but more will be revealed soon.

These are my opinions on the roadmap ideas at this point. Was very excited in January and I’m on the edge of quitting now.

Quick suggestion, changing the attacking notif to a different colour, maybe red. When you’re being spammed with scouts and you’re looking for someone to attack it’s really hard to notice.

You have to realize, there has to be something visible (to the tower) to trigger it. Mage towers don’t target things, but they’re triggered by a target-able thing in range of them. Pretty sure Keris takes damage if he’s SW’ing and you have another unit in the same range triggering it.

Exactly this.

Because attacking people as you used to to get res is just way too hard.
Even getting 40k from a few assets every now and then comes in handy.. I find myself short a few thousand res before every upgrade and they get me it without having to trade fame or units for it.
I feel as though assets are still a good attempt, maybe raised to 2 per hero so people actually fight others for them or something.. but as we’ve all seen, give the time the devs need to them, and they’ll do something right here and there. We seen with Totems and such, eventually the devs fix things, they made units valuable again and defending reasonable.

I say she needs a revamp asweel, what bbrady said would be quite nice, and Corrupt had a good point. I recently levelled up my Seripha to full lv9 with intentions to kick some ass just to find out she blows.. Even for me defending she does.. Either I’m a horrible defender or she REALLY needs a boost.

Did you expect them to leave the game alone and never change it? If things weren’t changed we’d still be rolling around on stone wheels. Things need change, but they need to be supported changes. I think the devs should give us options to vote on for changes (Like what JAGEX does. ..If you don’t know.. Jag runs Runescape.. I’m sure you know what that is and quite a few.. million.. people love it.)

I enjoyed the tiles. It was very conquest-y..? I was thinking the same thing would happen on the WM just a larger scale. I hope it does. If hey made you spread out from your hometowns and claim lands up to the next asset it may be more enjoyable.. Maybe, that’s the only fix I see to this.

I also didn’t realize until now that this was the new conquest.. I still don’t think this is.. It’s way too personal. In the last few days this has been out I haven’t done a damned thing to help my guild the way I should, and with this I can’t.. This isn’t conquest anymore.

I want to petition to bring back the REAL conquest. The adrenalin-fueled rage people have as you wipe their territory, the excitement there was planning the next attack.. The strategy. I want it all back.

Who wants to sit in prot and do nothing? Let’s be honest. And in order to farm to get another build, you’d have to come out of prot. :P But defense is very low expense to upgrade.. so it will promote not-shit bases.

Sean, if we have more players it’s just gonna be like it is now. It’ll take 2-3 months for them to get close to lv 6-8 range by then we’d have cit10’s, and STILL nobody out of prot.

After pondering and contemplating smashing the computer over not a damn person on my list, I realized.. The only reason that nobody is out of prot is because nobody has anyone to attack.. Don’t get confused yet.. Let’s say.. half the population is blood-thirsty try-hard killers.. and the other half is your mediocre gamer. Well, your average joe’s are gonna have some nice defense and practically live in prot, no? Well.. Let’s not take their Virginity-shield away.. We can’t make it that easy on the killers. And for our killers.. well, since they have no kids to destroy.. they’re just gonna sit in prot as well.

I’ve thought of 1 way of solving this, people will bitch about it, until it works. Taking away AI or making AI lose prot. This will make:

  1. Less people will be in prot farming
  2. People will have to actually have defense to farm
  3. Progression might be slowed and people might actually buy res (For you, devs.)
  4. Resources will circulate, but become more scarce.
  5. With more scarce res, people will rely more on Guulak for res while in prot (So more people will buy heroes for energy. Once again, for you devs. ;D)

I KNOW people will bitch and moan if this happens.. but hear me out, try it for a week. It fits what’s going on. Test this along with the cit req. to get res idea, they kinda go hand in hand. If it req. losing your cit to lose res you have a better chance of defending.

Tell me what you think, please.
