I don’t like putting up this much in a row. But it’s up again, though I can’t include music, as the server I’m using limits me (inconsistently) to uploading files under 500 kb.

Messed around a bit with the game, so it doesn’t have as many confusing parts.

A change I did make that might be a bit annoying, however: the text now appears in the order that you triggered it, and as you need to be able to read it, it doesn’t go that quickly. You have to wait a while before it’s relevant, if you went that fast.

The alternative would be the text that you most recently unlocked comes up first, and the least recently comes up last, but that provides for confusing and irrelevant text after the relevant.

Any ideas on how to reconcile the two options?

Yeah; that’s the idea.

I do have a screen that contains all the controls you know so far (press Control to get there). But yeah, I’m not sure the best way to implement re-reading the text that has already gone by; it might make things a little bit clunky/clunkier. There is always resetting the game. :P

I have added in game instructions.

Can people give advice on how to change the mechanics to make it less of a guessing game? Maybe something indicating which rune’s it could be. Maybe usable items that remove entirely unused arrows, automatically fill in one random rune below, get the next one correct automatically, and so on. (With a similar reward style like in Ring Pass Not; for having ten lives after solving a puzzle, you would get a bunch of different items that could be used later?)

You know, manipulations like that; does anyone have any ideas?

Can people test this and tell me how to make it less of a guessing game? Or do you think that this puzzle would work fine for the central gameplay of a game?

Also, what is the general effectiveness of releasing a demo of a game, as far as increasing interest or getting useful feedback? This is the first time I have done it, and am just wondering.
