Music for credit mention
I’d like to see what you can do. The mood is a sort of daunting horror/macabre but in a technological context. Whisper me!

Need some music tracks for Flash game.
Hey, I’m currently working on a game that could use some music. I’m envisioning moody techno music for the all-around theme. Anyone willing to do this? Thanks!

@Pilagus Maximun Badge
It is a bit tedious…for anyone who’s done it, how many times do you have to do the Stage 1-50 → New Game+ cycle?

Games don't carry from one computer to another?
They’re not actually cookies. Well, flash cookies I suppose. You can usually run a search on your PC for the saves, but most of mine end up being in:
C:\Documents and Settings\(Whatever Your Name Is)\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\USAEPYRZ (I think this is random for everyone) \chat.kongregate.com
So I guess you could save that folder to a flash drive to move it around. I don’t know if this would work as I can’t test it. Enjoy experimenting, nonetheless. The files are tiny!

Playing Without Shooters
Jude: I agree that they are easy, but a bit tired… stuff like Portal is a new way to use a shooter without bullets or killing people.
I see you.
Are you still there?
I don’t blame you…

Kongregate's Star Virus Outbreak!
Actually for your first point, the reviews are out of 10, but the game score is still out of 5. In fact, it can even be rated 0, so logic says you should have a lower score if anything.
If I were attempt to answer your question based on observation, I would have to say NG people rate games based on individual merits (Especially in the reviews). Gameplay, sound, graphics, etc. Do one good? That’s a star.
Now I’m sure both scenarios happen on both sites, but this is just how I’ve felt.

Kongregate's Star Virus Outbreak!
My interpretation was that there’s a ton of casual gamers who just can’t be arsed to play very much of any game which doesn’t fit their expectations or is challenging enough to need some practice.
This is very true and is my personal experience :p
There’s nothing you can do except hold their hand through it with constant hints and such, but that feels lame to do just for ratings, no?
I usually don’t leave comments with my ratings, because I don’t feel I have anything too useful to say…Maybe I’ll start doing it anyway?

Smileys War: Unoriginality at it's best.
Jabor…I actually think that would be a good argument-reducing system, for most people. Games on this site without badges don’t get very much exposure. As for myself, I really don’t care if a game I don’t like gets badges, for reasons you’ve said. And if Greg only sorts by rating for his badge choices…I weep for myself!

While not completely like the rhythm games, Fish Quest offers a bit of the same familiar mechanics. Sorry to hear about your red ringed 360 D;

Sure, get the enemy close…and then pull out the poison dagger she’s got behind her back. Or whatever!

New card art!
Wow, these pirate set designs are very nicely done! I actually really like having different art styles. (Each set having a unique style would be most awesome, but I know that’s not an easy thing to do). I plan to do the same thing with multiple artists with a current card game project. I’m sure they’ll look great as cards, and can’t wait to see it when it’s all complete. Best of luck!

It’s not a squid…it’s a psychic octopus…thingy. Aim your path, fire, and unleash a torpedo barrage while it’s not looking. Simple!

I guess I wouldn’t mind so much if just another player wrote one. They still probably wouldn’t be finding everything. For now I guess I’ll stand strong and take the rating hit!

Strategy Guides/Walkthrough Discussion
I, personally, am against them. I very much enjoy exploring games and figuring out what everything does for myself.
However…I recently posted a game of mine and the feedback so far has been less than positive. The reason, it seems, is that most people can’t figure out a certain part, and they give up without getting very far at all. Some want instructions telling them how to do everything. Should I write up guides on how to pass sections, even if I feel I’m killing the enjoyment?
How do you all feel about this issue? As a developer, do you appease the populous? As a gamer, do you feel feel better when you do something on your own, or does it not really matter at all?
