[Castlot] Understanding the New Scroll System
This new system can be good. And it can be bad. It will take a little bit to
upgrade, but now everyone has much easier access to ults then ever before.
When synthesizing, you use 3 scrolls to get an upgraded scroll of the 3 you
Example: You use Ult I, Ult II, and Ult III. You are guarenteed to get a blue scroll of either Ult I, II, or III.
The outcome of what you get will be random and will be 1 of the 3 scrolls
This being said, it’s going to take a long time to upgrade a scroll to what
you want based on luck. And not the best idea.
So here’s the idea, if you have a better one, then by all means say so.
Lets say you need Ult I, Ult II, and Ult III. To get these you would have to
either draw them in wheel, or use the recasting system (See blelow).
To get my idea to work regarding sythesizing, you must have gotten 3
different ults. ( We will be using Ult I, Ult II, and Ult III as examples,
as if you already had them). These can be any 3 ults, we’re just using I, II
and III as examples.
Now looking at it, you would need 3 of the same scrolls to get a guarentee
upgrade of a scroll of your choosing.
Example: Using Ult I, Ult I, and Ult I will guarentee you a blue Ult I.
If you wait to get 3 of the same scroll each time it will take a lot of
scrolls of the same type to upgrade to yellow scrolls.
9 green scrolls makes 3 blue scrolls.
27 green scrolls makes 3 purple scrolls.
81 green scrolls makes 3 yellow scrolls.
Now I think I found a way to shorten this, instead of having to get the same
type each time. Lets start off by saying you just got your green scrolls,
Ult I, Ult II, and Ult III. Regardless you are going to need all three of
these. So instead of waiting and only getting scrolls of equal number, go
ahed and combine all 3. You are gurenteed to get a blue ult I, II, or III.
Example: You combine a green Ult I, Ult II, and Ult III and you get a blue Ult I. 33.3% for Ult I, 33.3% for Ult II, and 33.3% for Ult III.
Now you have a Blue Ult I. You just need the other two. For the next step,
you will need two Ult II, and one Ult III. You now have a guarenteed chance
to get 1 blue ult II ot III.
Example: You combine a blue Ult II, Ult II, and Ult III and you get a blue Ult II. 66.67% for Ult II and 33.3% for Ult III.
Finally!!! You now have a blue Ult I and Ult II. The last and final step to
getting this, is to get 3 Ult III for a gurenteed Blue Ult III.
Using this process will have you using less scrolls and will be much faster,
as well as efficient. I hope you all the best in collecting your ults.
Welcome to the newest little option involving scrolls. Recasting.
Now what is recasting? It’s the best way to get ults (without the wheel), or
getting rid of spare ults you have just lying around because you have so
many (you luck guy, you)!
First, what is recasting? Basically. You use it to get ults and to change
the current number of a scroll, to a new one. We’ll be going into a little
more detail at this next part.
Let’s start simple. Lets say you have 4 scrolls you no longer want, or want
to change (this can be any color scroll, and any number). You can do this a
few different ways.
Way 1: You can use ANY 4 scrolls and get a random scroll.
Example: Atk IV, Def III, Atk I, and Prod IX. This will result in a random number scroll of any kind (Atk, Def, Prod, Training, or Ult).
Way 2: You can use 4 scrolls of the same type to ensure the same kind of
scroll and a different number then the four you used.
Example: Ult I, Ult II, Ult III, and Ult IV. This will result in a new Ult between number V and IX. You have no chance to get an Ult I, II, III, or IV.
Way 3: You can use all 4 types of scrolls (excluding Ult scroll) to get a
guarenteed ult scroll of a random number.
Example: Atk I, Def VII, Prod I, and Training III. This will result in a guarenteed new Ult of a random number.
Way 3 is the best and most efficient way for a guarenteed ult.
I hope this helps some newer players or players who didn’t quite understand.
I’m sure this guideline have some mistakes, by eh, we’re only human (I
assume)! If you have any other ideas ot suggestions please feel free to
Thanks to VoXoV, I’ve realized an easier way as he said.
A much easier way to get yellow ults would be to make yellow scrolls in each scroll type and recast them into yellow Ults. This will make the cost to get yellow ults to be 312 green scrolls altogether. I know this seems like a huge amount, but you’ll get them in no time.
Starting with production, combine 3 greens = 1 blue (3 green scrolls used), 3 blue = 1 purp (9 green scrolls used), 3 purps = 1 Yellow Production Scroll (27 green scrolls used).
Continue this process with the following 3 scrolls and recast them in ults.
Example: 27 (green scrolls) x 4 (scroll types) = 108 (1 Yellow Ult)
To get 3 yellow ults you would do this 2 more times (3 altogether). Your total scroll count would be 324 for 3 Yellow Ults (108 × 3 = 324).
Of course the difficulty of getting all 9 Yellow Ult scrolls will get harder as you go, as they are random each time you recast. This is the best idea to use to get our first 3 ults. After that it becomes luck and to continue to use this way or the way mentioned at the top of the page will be your own choice. This way will cost the less when it comes to green cards but require the most luck. The other way mentioned at the top part of the will cost more green cards but require less luck (some luck still required however).
Always remember. If you end up with 4 yellow ults from many failed attempts, you can always recast them at a shot at the one you need.
