I don’t think Win8 has anything to do with this, you need to upload the screenshot image to one of the free online image websites (I use http://tinypic.com/). Once you upload it, the website will give you a link to the image. Paste this link with ! around it to display it as an image in your reply.

Topic: King's Bounty: Legions / Matchmaking system (important)

But in current PvP to fight a better opponent with absolutely no chance of winning means I simply have to spent almost all my stamina to heal the units which leads to me waiting 3 hours before I recover the lost stamina

Cough stamina potion Cough … no seriously, the developers are making micro-transactions on these small items. We can remove stamina cost for reviving fallen troops, or suggest no penalties for PvP. However, these things would break other parts of the game or worse: less revenue for Nival, and its not really fair for us to tell them to make less revenue on their entertainment product, or is it ?

Therefor the current system is just broken.

nah, its just having difficulties taking off. I agree with you on one point, they shouldn’t have started everyone at the same level. Perhaps there are reasons for that (e.g. incite anger in players to purchase/upgrade units).

being the top dog and meeting only fleeing armies is no fun either.

that is very true.

So what the devs can do about it?

A. Roll back to the previous system.

B. Keep the new system but roll back to the previous ladder

C. Keep the new system and ladder but remove death/flee penalties.

A) The previous PvP matching system is the reason for this update, so no, previous system didn’t match well.
B) Might work, but I’m afraid that data is long gone. Also, previous ladder had a different rating system.
C) Not good for revenue.

We want to have fun in PvP and if they insist on keeping the current system at least allow us to play w/o frustration untill the ladder will settle.

I totally agree, and I think this can be done by keeping people in the PvP arena, which will require Nival to reduce flee_timeout penalty (to 5min), which will result in:
1) increase the number of players in PvP
2) stabilize the system faster
3) faster matching
4) less frustration / more fun
5) continuous play

Topic: King's Bounty: Legions / New Unit (Duke of Darkness)

Shackles of Darkness (SoD) could prove very useful against melee legendaries (Champions, Pals, Assassins, etc.). I think the bloodlust would be more effective when accompanied by other spells that add to attack. Bloodlust with white unicorn ability will give you up to +14% crit for one unit.
Speed is a little discouraging for pvp (would need Light-Tread like Paladins). Initiative is low too.
This unit feels like a melee magician. Would be interesting to see how people use it.

well yes ,penalties cause no fights to take place and it is radiculous. Ofc if that would happen gold rewards also should be seriously reduced.

I see your point, but it simply wouldn’t work for the developers for one simple reason “no one would ever buy more units than their leadership,” and capturing more of the same kind of units from PvP would be meaningless. Taking out penalties completely is not the right approach for any game. Even games that have no penalties would make you start a level from the beginning or load the last saved state prior to the lost progress.

Penalties are necessary but should not be exaggerated. A 10 minute wait is long enough for me to lose interest and close the game.

A 5 minutes wait would keep most people in the PvP arena if they so desire.

if the best item is a dominator boot, then its possible that you might get any legendary unit as well. Perhaps all items in the game are possible outcomes, maybe its all a matter of probability.

Nah the real problem is healing your army + run away option. Hence solution is to implement same rules with auto heal as in friendly and disable run from combat option. So simple that devs will most likely never implement it.

you are simply suggesting no penalties for losing a PvP battle.

If you have a weak garrison (less than level 13-15 army) then you will most likely lose because of the AI. Even if you have a level 15 army, you will most likely lose because of the AI.

This is why I only have 1-common troop (1-unit) guarding my garrison. People that raid you will get very little gold (less than 1k). In fact, ever since I did this trick, I’ve been getting less raids. Perhaps people know that they will get very little to no gold from my garrison, so they leave me alone.

There aren’t enough online players to actually have this system working. you can always try to take off your dominator gear and use only half army ,then they may not run away ;p

I only have one dominator item (shield) and I’m not even using it in PvP for the same reason you have mentioned. I think the problem is the time difference and peak hours. I seem to play this game at hours when everyone is asleep.

Ok, here’s an EASY one.

Your PVP rating goes up or down based on RAIDS (that’s an ai, right).

PVP = Player vs. Player.

That means a human mind vs. another human mind. That’s what gives the rating meaning. It loses it’s meaning (even more than with this running away to lower your rating madness) if an ai battle can affect it.

And maybe you should check the amount-stolen-in-raids percentages. I’m in either brass or iron (depending) and people have been stealing 10% of my total.

That’s not what you’ve been advertising.

They mentioned that the amount of gold stolen is a function of legion and number of creatures killed.

This is why I have only one creature type (1 unit) in my garrison. Anyone that raids me will automatically win. My rating will go down, but I wont lose as much gold. (Garrisons have horrible AI anyways)

I wont be increasing my rating until Nival gives me a good reason to do so.

Topic: King's Bounty: Legions / PvP Runaway timeout [vote]

My vote is 1 (shorter wait = 3 to 5min). The reason is simple. A 10min wait is long enough that the player becomes distracted with something else and loses interest. Everytime I run away I end up closing the game, coming back several hours later (if I remember), or even the next day.

@GrtRbwSword

Once the system reaches equilibrium, winning between two equally matched players will be a matter of who gets the first critical hit (do you remember those battles between us ?). The map also determined who would win. Beating the guy in front of you will require the use of ruins, better gear, or better units. Until you reach a $$ player, which will destroy you with his/her full champion/dominator set, and you wont be able to go any further unless you also become a $$ player.

It will become a stagnent state rather than balanced, and a natural progression towards a dead-end or the royal shop.

@somosdios
So your vote is other ..

I was not aware of this trick yet (some players intentionally flee to lower their ranks). This makes sense if you want to keep battling low rank players to win. From that perspective, the runaway timer would benefit them if it is made shorter.

So people that run away should not get a negative rating penalty (exploitable) and timeout penalty should be a different penalty.

Topic: King's Bounty: Legions / frustrations and feedback about new patch.

==Before the patch===
Nival: one winning PvP gives you 80K gold
Players: upgrading units beyond level 10 is so hard, but at least I can make a lot of gold from PvP to keep trying.

Nival team meeting: we need to make more money by selling more gems. We need to make players spend more gems on upgrades. PvP gold rewards must be half = 40K gold.
==After the patch===
Nival: one winning PvP gives you 20K gold
Players: hey that is way too low !
Nival: ok, we have listened to you, we increased it to 30K gold
Players: that is still low
Nival: ok, because we are generous, we have made it 40K gold, but we cant increase it any further.
Players: hey, at least its not 20K gold..

Topic: King's Bounty: Legions / frustrations and feedback about new patch.

So basically you don’t like the new gold drop from PvP because its not enough to upgrade units effectively.

This is the major complaint of most players about the new patch. I’m pretty sure they did this intentionally to make money on selling gold and using gems for upgrades. They knew people would complain about it, I find that obvious.

My question is: did Nival intentionally released the patch with horrible gold rewards so that when people complain they would make it slightly better, but not back to what it was pre-patch, and by that they hit their intended target. (this is the basics of bargaining)
I say this because on their facebook page, they said that they increased gold-rewards, but players are still complaining about it being low.
