I prefer Ubuntu, although I don’t use it very often because my computer’s partitioned and the partition gives me a lot of grief. The other OS I use is Apple, for a variety of reasons.
The first, major one, is that while it does cost a lot, the computer itself is very stable, unlikely to break, and will last a long time. I still have my 2004 iBook that I use to browse the internet while I’m updating my Mac Mini.
I also really like the OS. It’s organized in a way that’s intuitive, things are easy to find, and I have easy access to all my files, even hidden ones. OSX also runs on Unix, so there’s a fair amount of open-source programs for my Mac that I use regularly, like HandBrake, SoundFlower, and MPlayerX.
OSX also comes with a good amount of pre-loaded programs like GarageBand and iMovie, which I don’t use but I can totally understand why they’d be a perk for people who can’t afford FCPX or LP9 (or who won’t pirate them). The creative software available for the Mac is also astounding and user-friendly, with lots of community and developer support.
There are a few things about Macs that I don’t like, however. The first thing is they cost a lot, as I mentioned before. If they’d take the hardware of a Mac Mini and put it in a tower like a Pro, the computer itself would only be around 400 dollars, which is comparable to rival PC manufacturers. Another thing is that as time goes on, the computers become harder and harder to self-operate on. Right now only the towers can be self-operated on, and I’m sure that’s going to go away soon.
Another thing Apple’s been doing lately is releasing lots of updates for their products that are unnecessary and they just slow them down. Lion whatever version iOS is on are very slow and require a bit of tweaking to optimize, which is stupid. The OSs don’t need to be so clunky and slow.
Still, being Unix-based means that the iOS and OS can still be easily hacked and formed into something more desirable, and that’s pretty nice. Ubuntu has these same perks, as well as a massive community support group, but like I said, I don’t use it as much as OSX.
I won’t use Windows at all. I used to have a Windows computer and all it did was be annoying. It wasn’t very user-friendly, it crashed frequently, and whenever I tried to diagnose the problems nobody gave any helpful advice. There are so many small, little bugs in Windows that if somebody runs into one, there’s a high chance very few others have run into it, making it a nightmare to try to solve problems. Windows has the gaming advantage, but Ubuntu and OSX are quickly catching up in that department so it won’t be long until Windows has lost even that.
And yes, I am perfectly aware that I can build a computer for less money than buying a Mac and making it a “Hackintosh”, but I like my computers to have a warranty so I don’t have to keep spending money to get them fixed until they work properly. The one problem I’ve had with my Mac has been a disk drive problem which I got fixed for free.

It becomes obvious that they are only aiming to kill him, not apprehend him and kill him if necessary, when cops open fire on innocent civilians without warning. What that means is that the police are aiming to kill, either for revenge or to silence Dorner, rather than bring him in alive and put him to trial. Granted, Dorner got into a gunfight with the police in the end so they wound up having to shoot him, but the fact of the matter is they would have shot him if he had walked out of that cabin with his hands up, unarmed.

I use decimals unless they’re unrepresentable in decimal form. Some decimals can only be represented in decimal form as they’re impossible as fractions, like .9 repeating, so then I use decimals for that as well.
