[DEV] 1/30/2012 Ancient Raids have been unleashed! v1.10.30

Seconded. It would also be nice to have a count of points won vs points lost in the most recent few wars/days. Maintaining a spreadsheet of activity is a pain.
Thanks for the update!

Incinerating Power: Recruiting New Members
Right now, we only have one member under level 30. Build up your levels a bit first, otherwise you would have a tough time in the wars.

Orange Battered Shield?
I have found a total of 59 Battered Shields and none of them have been orange. How do I get Orange Battered Shields, or have I just been unlucky?

A company cannot charge more than you agreed to pay for something, so those who bought those “10 WB trap cards” in Vault have to be refunded asap.
No. Say you go to you super market and you allways see your favourite drink for $5, whilst the one you dont really like is on the top shelf for 1$. One day you go and without any notive nor any kind of heads up, you see both drinks for 1$. Now you have been buying your favourite drinks for a while now… long enough to know the 1$ has to be a mistake, or at least for you to ask if it is the correct prize.
My example fails because at a super market you will have to pay and the cashier will tell you the real prize but for the sake of the example, what would you say ? hey the prize tag says $1 so you have to charge me $1 ? Sure you could do it. Take it to court and you will loose simply because the truth is that you wanted to take advantage out of a situation and it backfired.
I don’t know where you are from, but in the United States, stores can get in big trouble for having inaccurate price tags.

Standard Standard Standard Standard Standard Standard Standard Standard Standard Standard
It happened several times in the recent days that all 4 are standard. I have been wanting to get in Sealed Gold pack tournaments for weeks now and there have hardly been any when I have been able to log on.

[Dev] Tyrant Roadmap Oct 22

Will you also be able to test applicants’ decks as well? Also, would it be possible to improve the ways to track member activity? For example, if the game would automatically total up the points won vs. points lost for a member during the last several days, it would really help. Thanks.

[DEV] 7/25/2011 Tournaments Delayed
For the sealed tournaments, there would be a risk that a player does not draw a good (or any) commander. To fix this, I suggest either:
1) Allow a player to choose from a few moderately good (but not great) commanders, in addition to any that they draw. The commanders could be specially made for tournaments and would not be kept afterwards.
2) Allow a player to use 1-2 cards they own from the set the tournament is in. If they don’t draw a commander and don’t have one from that set, then there would have to be a default one.

We hear you guys! Announcement coming soon
The goal should be a range around 65-85% depending on deck building and strategic player skill, with a 3/4 winrate being considered good.
I am 32/5 in my current war, with only a few of those on defense. It is possible to build a good deck with the new rules (and no, I do not intend to post mine).
A few people have suggested a larger hand size. That would require significant changes to allow for that, because the larger decks would only be used in faction wars. An easier change would be to have the defending decks discard a card at random at the beginning of the match.

An amusing thought experiment
Rally flags could take the place of a few command centers, if you actually wanted to try it.

AI improvement

Yes, I realize that it is not perfect. The current system seems to just pick cards at random to play and often plays action cards when there is nothing for them to act on. This way offers a method that at least reacts to the situation.

AI improvement
Maybe you should try to understand the concept before you criticize it and make yourself look like a fool. Dozer Tank would not be 1 point because there would be points for counter and regenerate.

AI improvement
There have been several requests for better AI, so here is my suggestion.
Each of the 3 cards in the AI’s hand are assigned points based on a set of rules, such as:
+1 point times the attack
+1 point times the health
-2 points times the countdown
+1 point times the poison skill
+1 point times the strike skill (if strike all, multiply by the number of opponent assault cards in play)
+1 point times the siege skill, times the number of structure cards the opponent has
If the card is a structure, -1 point for every point of siege the opponent has
…and so on.
After all of the points are added up, the card with the highest points will be played. In case of a tie, just pick one.
Suppose the human player plays a Cannon Walker the first turn and the AI draws EMP, Orbital Cannon and Irradiated Infantry.
EMP will be assigned +2 (for strike 2) * 1 (for strike all, since the opponent has 1 assault card) = 2 points
Orbital Cannon will be assigned +2 (for 2 Health) – 2 (for 1 countdown) + 1 (for strike 1) – 2 (since the opponent has a total of 2 siege) = -1 point
Irradiated Infantry will be assigned +2 (for 2 attack) + 3 (for 3 health) – 2 (for 1 countdown) + 1 (for poison 1) = 4 points
The AI will then play Irradiated Infantry, just like a human player would. The rules listed here are incomplete and the relative weights may need to be adjusted, but it would lead to the AI acting somewhat intelligently. It would react to the cards in play without requiring any additional complexity when building defence decks. The number and complexity of the rules could be adjusted to trade off between processing time and intelligence. Rules for new skills in future expansions can be added easily.
What do you think?
