didn't get my sparks
I had the same thing happen. You have to go into the options menu and reset ALL game data (no biggie if you already lost your save and havent started playing again). Then, check your inventory, and you should have the sparks along with your default starting potions/scrolls.

Idea: Make it possible to purchase badges.
The one and only purpose of badges is bragging rights. If people could buy those badges, they’d lose 100% of their already limited meaning. It’s not like buying unlocks in TF2 – it would be like if they let you buy achievements (hint: they don’t, for pretty much the same reason). It’s not “unfair” that you don’t get recognized for doing stuff you didn’t do. What’s next – buying a high score so it looks like you did the best at a game you haven’t played?
As for why it’s a bad idea for Game Stop… I, for one, would not come back to this site nearly as often if they did this, and I’m sure I’m not the only user they’d completely alienate.

AAAAH change the main page back to normal!
They really ought to show people all three options and let them pick, or at least have some sort of official poll. I’ve been stuck with the featured games list version, and I hate it. Having seen all 3 thanks to these forums, I like the other new design (the ‘tiled scroll bar’ one) more than the original.

Hmm Yea or Nea new featured games?
I get the same UI as SicMirx and I don’t like it much at all. It’s very cluttered, crams the recently badged features to a very small space and then has an ugly wall of links with less meta-info than pretty much anywhere else on the site (the other ‘tiny thumbnail only’ links show the game’s rating and under headers identifying game category). I don’t know anything about the linked games on this first new UI except their name and a barely visible thumbnail. Calling that a way to “feature” games is, frankly, laughable; they are given less attention and screen space than any other game listing on the page.
The one that TheDavidCarney gets looks much nicer. I never liked the scrolling part of the old one; if that one works like I assume it does, where clicking one of those games listed below gives it the full top display, then I think this new one is definitely the best of the three options.

"loot challenges"
The Brute Wars card challenge is still running. It’s Monday. It looks like the loot challenge is a separate deal from the weekly card challenges, not a replacement.

Introducing Underdog Week!
Cool idea, but the game choices so far have been truly terrible. Today’s badge is so awful I can’t even bring myself to try for more than 2 minutes. There have GOT to be better obscure games buried on Kongregate than these crapfests!

Adblock Plus exceptions
Hey all,
Like many Firefox users, I use Adblock Plus to block all online ads. However, Kongregate and its developers are supported by ads. Many sites that use ads use them to keep their site up and running, but in most cases I don’t feel guilty about using Adblock. However, as a developer myself, I did feel guilty about depriving the game devs whose works I enjoy on Kongregate of any revenue for my traffic! So, I did a little Googling and figured out it’s pretty trivial to whitelist Kongregate while using Adblock elsewhere. Many of you probably already know this, but just in case, if you’re an Adblock Plus user and would like to support Kongregate developers by disabling Adblock functionality on Kongregate only, all it takes is this:
1. Open up the Adblock Plus preferences. In Windows, it’s under Tools and has the hotkey Ctrl-Shift-E.
2. Click Add filter… and type the following (minus the quotes): “@@|http://kongregate.com”
3. Do it again, but this time put the www. before kongregate. I’m not sure if both filters are necessary, but using both can’t hurt.
4. Reload Kongregate. Voila! The ads should be there. Other sites not on the kongregate.com domain name will still have ads blocked as normal.
Hope this helps some of you.

Facebook & Privacy
While the OP is a little excessively angry about this, it is true that this is annoying. I didn’t know how to turn this feature off until I found Malachi’s link in this thread. Kongregate should have an option in the account settings to enable/disable this ‘feature.’
Regarding opt-in, I don’t recall telling Kongregate anything about facebook. I was quite surprised when it started posting stories to my profile. This is a ‘stealth feature’ that many users find annoying. It should be made opt-in, with options to enable and disable from the Kongregate end and not just obscure Facebook privacy pages.
