This is in a response to SaintGraye. Healing is fine how it is. I can beat this game now almost every time I play it. The game is hard; stop trying to make it into just another grind-fest that you can't lose. Here are some tips on how to survive: A) Don't fight if you don't have to. Seriously. There is no reward for killing monsters. If you can grab the treasure and just run, do it. B) Monsters ALWAYS move after the closest adventurer, unless they can do a ranged shot. Use the Archer and Rogues superior move capabilities to draw monsters off. You can use the wizard in a pinch with his swap ability if you plan it right. C) Use furniture to your advantage. The Rogue can pull pull statues (or caged adventures). The wizard can swap places with tables, even the warrior can nudge a big statue a space with his roar. If you can block a monsters path with furniture, it stops moving.

Would help to know which Shop item is which so we know what we are buying instead of wasting money on stuff we do not need at the moment.

Here are some tips and pointers: BARBARIAN: movement;2 Can jump over obstacles, causing '+' sign damage. Yell can damage 2 consecutive enemies. If only one enemy, pushes enemy back. ARCHER: movement;3-5 Can shoot arrows diagnolly or horizontally, clear across the room. Only walls stop arrows. Can teleport through walls. WIZARD: movement;2 Can change position with nearest hero / obstacle. Can shoot fireball clear across room, but is stopped by obstacles / enemies / heros. Splits into '+' sign. ROGUE: movement;3 Can grapple horizontally to furthest wall / obstacle. Can grapple diagonally / horizontally any hero / enemy to her.

D) Battle the shops if you can pull it off. Especially if there is a healing potion for sale. If you can keep all your adventurers alive, you get that healing potion for free. If you can't wait.. just use an Archer to teleport to the healing potion. E) Only one adventurer needs to get to the door from everyone to escape. Archers are very good at this. If you don't think you can beat a monster, use your other adventurers to draw it off and use the archer to leave the room. This is a handy trick when a room has multiple entrances, as you can pull monsters to one side of the room, re-enter on another side and plug it with ranged attacks. F) Last tip: plane your first round carefully. Mouse over the monsters to see their movement rate and stats. Often its best to let them COME TO YOU. If you can just sit there and plug them with fireballs as they come around a corner, do it. I know the game is hard, but trust me, it feels pretty damn good to beat it the first time BECAUSE its hard.

Ignore people such as morikahn who advise you to disregard the opinion of others when it comes to your game, particularly where balance is concerned. Aesthetics is fair game, being a subjective matter, but here we are discussing mechanics. Often, in such cases, the majority rules and constructive criticism should never be taken for granted. In other words, your game does require some solution to healing as most successful roguelikes provide some means of HP restoration. At present, this is a simple battle of attrition that often concludes after a few short rooms.
