I was cruising happily along and enjoying this game and bustin' up the highscore real good and fantasizing about the fact this easily rates this over 3 stars and that the sound is great and all the wonderful adjectives that I would use to describe this game. Then I HIT 'P' TO PAUSE THE GAME AND IT RESETS IT. You, sir, need to correct that. Unreal.

Absolutely agree with sirspikey. It's a very nice beginning. In particular using different classes of vehicles to choose from at the start of the game sounded very promising. Maybe you could use the crystals to upgrade your ship? Add different properties to the different types of crystals that drop (and make the more interesting ones harder to catch?) Maybe you can even unlock (at some kind of random) upgrades that require a certain number of different types of crystals to kick in. Makes it more worthwhile to try to catch a gem even though you may get hit in the process.
Then if you add a nice tune and fine-tune these sound-effects you'll have a good thing going!
