When you enter the level you need to reselect the screen with the mouse to control the craft, if you forget then damage is done before you even start.

Two things that would improve the game play dramatically: 1. As Omnivar stated a coolant upgrade for shooting 2. A 'vacuum' device to suck in the crystals (hard to collect them while shooting/avoiding enemies)

The overheating isn't that annoying, but there should be an upgrade to reduce it somewhat. I'm more annoyed by the fact that the levels/bosses don't give you huge amounts of crystals - so if you want to upgrade your ship you have to replay the old minefield level a bunch. That is not fun.
Too many upgrades are a mixed bag - like firing off a bunch of missiles at once without increasing your capacity. Why would you even bother getting the final launcher upgrade? So you can run out of ammo twice as fast? No thanks.
It is a fun game, but it seriously needed to be beta tested by some experienced gamers. It would've had a much higher rating and made more money if you'd done that.

Great game - very well polished. With the cutscenes, art, and English (Usually for a game of this quality, I'd expect Japanese origin and poor grammar.), but especially with the level replay value, which keeps the plot consistent. I don't mind the clicking - it's really not that much of a bother. However, upgrades should include weapon cooling and a "magnet" for the crystals. Also, I find myself accidentally pressing "z" a lot, and thus screwing myself over for the rest of the mission. As a side note, that laser level is too damn hard. And when I have to retry it time and time again, I'd prefer not having to bear with the dialogue.

Protip: Don't make your upgrades feel like downgrades.
