This game runs on Adobe Flash. Effective Jan. 2021, Adobe began blocking its flash player's use everywhere. Kongregate is now partnering with Ruffle to make some of our Flash content playable again. The music is the highlight for me. Good job on that, and I appreciated the little Final Fantasy reference. Been a long time since I've heard that one. The game runs too slowly and is a little too simple for me to enjoy it in other respects though.
(Maybe... sword-chucks? Swordzooka?)

The fact there's no forgiveness even when the sword is 95% hidden is irritating, hence part of the need for hitpoints.

As soon as the game started I immediately pressed up to jump. I was surprised, but I was not disappointed.
I like the simplicity of the game and honestly I'd be a bit upset if you added much more.
The upgrades seem pretty unnecessary. And the freeze time powerup is just bad. It's just awful. Do not want.
Also, you seem to not stop accelerating if you jump and move. You can go across the entire screen in a single jump. Not sure if that's intended.
Overall, I like it.
