I understand the roof limit is to keep the player at constant speed and turn the noises into a tune but i couldnt reach even 80 with this so decided to wait until im almost at the bottom and spam keys until i get almost at top and wait again. Doing this turns the tune into random, annoying noises so i had to mute the game. Result: 164 floor. Sorry if you feel like wasted your time timing the tunes.

Fun, but the player shouldn't die if they hit the top of the screen

Actually, he should :) That's the way to keep the player at (near) constant speed.
