You can move paddle with your mouse, your touchpad or by keyboard (left arrow and right arrow). You can also use left mouse button (LMB) to release ball.

The game does not need any power-downs, since the paddle is so small to begin with. Plus the power-downs are too similar to the power-ups to distinguish between them. If you're gonna have any power-downs at all, since the paddle is so small, then the power-ups should be permanent. And they fall at the same rate as the ball most of the time, so your opportunity to catch them is small.
