Not bad. One suggestion is to add a short period of invincibility after being hit. I kept all 3 of my lives for a very long time, only to lose all 3 of them instantly when I got caught between moving ships. The player score is kept between all games played. I'm not sure if that was intended or not. Also, at the game over screen, it says press escape to "retun" instead of "return".

If you are going to be updating it and working on it more it would be awesom to have a shop or upgrade system
