Explore huge caves and alien ruins, collect treasures, and fight monsters in this 2.5D platformer!
We'll be continuing development on the game after the contest. Here's some features we'll be implementing *in the future*:
-Many varied enemy types including massive boss creatures and rare dangerous monsters.
-Puzzle rooms requiring use of the Drillboid's ball mode and other special abilities.
-Different types of areas, including underwater, volcanoes and ice caves.
-Customisable stable of Drillboids and Gunboids with interchangeable drills, weapons, bodies and secondary equipment suitable for different tasks.
-Research system for discovering new technologies and building new parts by collecting samples from creatures and artifacts.
-A shop where you can buy special equipment and one-time-use objects such as a radar device for mapping nearby cave systems using your hard-earned points.
-A story in which you will learn about the downfall of an alien civilization and discover the cause.

Arrow keys to walk/aim up and down
Space to jump (hold to jump higher)
Space while in air to use jet feet
S to fire
D + arrow keys to dig
A to roll into a ball, then again to exit the ball

A new patch has been added, changes are as follows. We hope you enjoy the changes!
-Ball mode now makes the player invincible to acid gas and lasers, and makes the player dash while on the ground
-Removed gas pockets to allow free exploring
-Lowered escape time to add challenge
-Fixed level select size mistake
-Fixed death while holding orb bug
-Arrow now points to orb when it’s been dropped
-Fixed shaky camera
-Fixed a bug with ground-based lasers not hurting
-Added sounds for ball transformation
-Added tutorial text explaining the minimap
-Ship pickup zone made clear
-Added a splash screen to inform people of unfinished state

in the tutorial i went above the cave and got to the end... just so future people konw, there isnt a easter egg or anything there :(

Ok, I figured out what's up with the game not letting you back on the ship. If you press S to fire your gun while you have the orb, you'll THROW THE ORB INSTEAD. This really should be made more clear.

ok so i stole the shiny thingy and got back to the ship with some score... what now ?
the game has a good start but theres nothing to it after that...
make an upgrade system/shop submiting score gathered in the caves would be nice too... also make the map more visible where there are small caves where medium etc.
