IMPORTANT:
Avoid combining items with inventory slots as the items will seem to disappear, though they’re just hidden under the slot which you can click to make the item re-appear.
My game is constructed differently than others, you can drag and drop but by dragging items from your inventory and dropping it on things in the game rather than the inventory slots themselves.

I put the water in the kettle before I plugged it in and it disappeared?

Hey, sorry about the in-convenience. The water you dragged is just stuck there rather than it disappearing. You have to click on the inventory-slot that you dragged the water cup to and it'll re-appear in it's slot. For your case it'd be the kettle slot since you dragged it to that, but again sorry for the in-convenience. Unfortunately it's something I don't know how to fix, I've tried many times but nothing worked. You'll have to avoid combining inventory slots. You can still finish the game!

My 2nd point and click game for the season, probably won't be working on another game for quite a while.
