If you keep losing food even with a ton of farms, raise the taxes (bottom of castle screen). Your villagers will leave, making more food stocks. Don't forget to lower the taxes afterwards.

My biggest issue with this and the previous one is it's too friggin random and provides no useful information about anything. I can have 25 farms + hero, 100 pop and everyone is still starving to death from food shortages. What's the deal here? There doesn't appear to be any kind of baseline of stability to make economic decisions off of.
