One more thing: this might have been for simplicity and ease for the programmers, but maybe change the value or symbol for the upgrades / add another one because it says one oval thing is 1000, but when you want to repair ship or shield, it is obviously not 1000 per oval since i Have 96$ right now, and had one oval, and fully recharged to five ovals on the ship repair and am only down to 87$. this might cause confusion for others. Sorry for lengthy and numerous posts ;-;.

I also am confused as to how to explain this but uhm... I don't know if it is just me that experiences this, (normally such things don't bother me, this is as to why I am confused) but my eyes are getting bothered by the flames... twitching back and forth I guess you could say, since it is doing it so rapidly... It could be just me, but I thought it worth mentioning.
I do like how the ship changes sizes though, makes it a little less boring at least to me for some reason. Also, the ship's design looks rather neat, with the flames trailing behind it :P.

Also, on the Screen where you upgrade the ship with the constantly turning red flame things (not trying to be mean or anything in these, just curious and trying to help) are they.. needed during that sequence..? I can understand if it is to draw the players attention to the ship during the game play to aid in focusing in on it, but during the upgrade screen it seems a little unnecessary.

*confusion as to how the screen with the numbers 1 2 3 and 4 and the rest of the game are related, though once played, i got the gist of it.* A few suggestions : Make the background not go by so fast maybe, as (at least for me) it continuously distracts me and makes me focus with it, rather than the ship, and it also slightly irritates my eyes, with how fast it is whizzing by as compared to the meteors and the ship itself. I noticed the ship gets bigger near the top of the screen and smaller as it goes down, and is no doubt intended, but maybe Someone could explain to me why, or if it was just for fun.
