For those struggling with this game… Your initial build should be pure healing, straight down the middle of the magic column. In the early sections of the game, use the heal over time spell first, and then heal more if needed, but otherwise keep melee attacking. Once you have all the healing spells, work on learning Disease Spell. Once you have curse, open with curse, then heal per time, then once you get disease, stop using curse and start using disease. Then build up to Glowing Ambition 2 on the knight side. When you have a few spare skill points, get Deadly Silent, and other than that, focus on passive boosts, preferably to damage and crits. Then use the spells in the following order: Disease, RegenII, Glowing AmbitionII; Attack, Attack, Attack; Deadly Silent, Attack, Attack; Then repeat the last six ad nauseum. Heal when needed. Once you can build shrines replace everything you don’t need.
And the best way in Hacker Vs Hacker to win a battle in later levels is to throw out a kido and then one of those speedy blue guys.
As for the earlier levels, if you don’t get gold the first time around just try and play through the later levels and get some upgrades
