I'm amazed that Kongregate allow people to do this - surely they smelt a rat when a new user signed up and immediately submitted a game from a publisher and developer that they are familiar with? I've e-mailed Greg but heard nothing back yet, and "DropDead_Damon" has kindly offered us developer credit...idiot. Thanks for the comments and feedback anyway, but we'll obviously be trying hard to have the game removed in the next few days.
Cheers,
Megadev.
The frozen blobs are in there to make life difficult - if it wasn't for them then game would go on forever! ;-) You can use bombs to get rid of them or the "thaw" power, but you'll also need to think ahead and plan carefully.
Ok guys, if you refresh your browsers then you should get the latest version of the game which has the out of time bug fixed. All new players shouldn't be affected! Cheers, Megadev.
Thanks guys - we worked hard to get the difficulty curve sorted out, and also bring the game world to life with all sorts of characters and new locations. We hope you continue to enjoy playing it!
Hey everyone, thanks for playing. :-) Just a quick note to let you all know that you can download Guitar Geek from here, as well as all of the tracks as high-quality mp3s:

Knightfall 2 should be coming to Kongregate in the next week or so. We'll be including statistics but whether the game will be given badges or not we'll have to wait and see.
Thanks, glad you like it! :) It's not going to win any awards but we think it's a fun, easy-going game and hope that it'll bring some enjoyment to a few people out there.
The move limit is there to provide a challenge - without it there wouldn't be much of a game. :) And yes, the game is basically Knightfall stripped down to its underwear, so to speak!
Thanks Coolio_Niato - we wanted to prove to ourselves that we could make a decent Guitar Freaks-like game and I'd like to think that we succeeded. We know it's not original (as many people have pointed out), but we just started up our new dev company and wanted to play it fairly safe for our first major release. Our next few games will show everyone what else we can do!
Cheers,
Mike.
To anyone with an AZERTY keyboard, you can play the game using the "1234" keys. I'll look in to implementing support for the IJKL keys too.
Cheers,
Mike.
Sorry about the lagging everyone - I'm wondering if it might be related to the Kongregate chat window? Perhaps you could try muting the chat whilst you're playing to see if it makes any difference? Cheers, Mike.
We'd like to have added more songs, but Flash games are generally limited to 10MB in size - Guitar Geek comes in at 9MB. The only way we could have added more tracks was by reducing the quality and / or length of each track, something we really didn't want to do. Cheers, Mike.
Thanks for the kind words Auvelier, although this game doesn't need a quality option since it doesn't use vectors, so changing the quality wouldn't make any visible difference. :-)
To everyone who's finding the game too easy; there is an "S" rating which you can only get by hitting something like 95% perfects on a track. If you can do this on hard or geek for every track then you're doing well. ;-)
