How to act “Casual”

(Like most people, I am one that is bad at acting casual. Yes indeed, one of the best ways to get me to look suspicious is to tell me to “act casual”)

Friend: How’re you?
Me: What!?! Me!? I’m, You know… casual…

(The key is not to act casual, its to act normal. If, like me, your not casual by nature, nothing will seem more suspicious than a forced attempt to act casual.)

Friend: What’re you up to?
Me: Nothing much, what makes you think I’m up to something my man?
Friend: The fact that you called me “my man” for one.

(If your trying to hide something you will most likely act differently, so have some innocent and plausible story to back up on.)

Me: I’m not feeling very well…
Friend: And that makes you talk like beatnik?
Me: Indeed it does… Daddy-O

(Even if it appears you’ve been caught, DON’T drop the ruse. They might not be on to you. And if they are, its better to go down swinging than just to give up!)
