It has frequently been asserted that there are no English words that rhyme with purple, orange, or silver. This is untrue. A curple is a strap on a horse’s saddle, to hirple is to walk with a limp, and to turple is to fall or tumble. A chilver is an ewe-lamb. A sporange is a spore-containing sac in mushrooms, however some say that the word “sporange” was created by a man who incorrectly conjugated the latin verb and the word he should have come up with was “sporangia.”
