Played through Songbird Symphony and I really love the characters and music. Adorable and funny, will look forward to seeing it completed. Unfortunately the web version is terrible regarding music sync, and it really ruins the game. I’ll go to itch.io to hopefully have a better time, this game deserves a better first impression than this version gives.

Hey guys! Just finished playing your prototype, and I have to say it looks AMAZING. It looks like something Humongous Entertainment would make! Seriously, it’s really clear you put a lot of work and effort into this game, and it really paid off.

One issue, though: the timing windows of the game seem to be really unforgiving for some reason. Other people have also complained about the music lagging behind on some of their systems. I experienced very little lag if any, and even I thought the timing windows for “Excellent” were a little off.

Lag can be an issue in other music games as well, but usually those games provide an “offset wizard”, which allows you to move the song so that it “looks” right when you play it. Maybe you could consider adding one in a later version of your game?

Also, I don’t know how big your timing windows are at the moment, but this spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1f17denU9Dgdi4xTwQ_Fb-V96GFnYeeRQn4ChEXwJw6I/edit#gid=217391934) shows the official timing windows used by osu!, another rhythm game. In that game, you can get a “300” (basically osu’s version of “Excellent”) if you hit the note and don’t play it more than 35 ms too early or too late. You get “Great” if you hit the note but play it 35-80 ms too early or too late, and “Good” if you’re 80-125 ms too early or too late. I’m only saying this because the game’s timing windows are really weird, and I have no idea if it’s because my computer is lagging or if the timing windows really are small. But if it’s the latter, then perhaps you might want to consider making the time windows slightly more forgiving.

In any case, I wish you the very best of luck in building your game! Seriously, I hope you guys make it to the point that you can release a full version on Steam one day. You’ll knock ’em dead ;)

Holy crap, dude; please do not give up on production of this game at any point. It’s been a while since I’ve had the type of experience with a game that Songbird Symphony gave me. The music was incredible and getting the badges just didn’t feel like enough. It’s really shaping up to be an amazing game and even though it’s still very early in the year; I’ll be casting my vote for it to make it into this year’s “Best of” quest if possible. Until then; I’ll be waiting for future versions and the complete game.

Such an amazing game songbird symphony is! One problem though, is that my brand flipping new MacBook with an Nvidia geforce 9000 256 MB graphics card can barely run the particles! Its pretty annoying, and my old laptop A 7 year old windows 7 laptop. can actually run it! So my recommendation is add some options to decrease the particles, or find another way to decrease lag.
