First off, kudos for making the game. It’s got that spark that makes me want to play it, even though I suspect it’s an endless labyrinth without a conclusion – some form of story would be great, and I might be able to help you with that if you’re interested. I like the game, I just have a few quibbles. First being the spiders, which have a number of issues. I think the biggest problem is that they don’t stand out from the background enough and can be on the protagonist before the player even sees them. I still believe that they kill a bit too quickly but it’s probably their ambush potential that makes them far more dangerous. I’ve learned to deal with them, but the first few games I played, I didn’t even see the spider before my game ended, and anything that makes your game less accessible to a new player is a bad thing for your game’s rating. Also, a slight reduction in the protagonist’s hitbox would help – sometimes it looks like I’m lined up with a tunnel but I’m not. More than one cave-in has been lethal for no reason than that. I would also recommend letting the player start out with a couple bricks and perhaps a few more torches, to lessen the randomness of a new game. show less

The player decides what the story is. Regarding spiders, I just pushed out version 1.0.4 which brightens their colors a bit which should make them pop a bit more in the cave levels. As for the hitboxes, I’m working on making them less precise to allow a little room for error with movement and collisions. Thanks for your feedback! show less
