Hey, just about the “middle” one in Fire Jumpers, I meant for the land based crews there was a third option in the middle (apart from run or act) that appeared to show both crew icons.
What I meant to ask was whether that action did anything, like swap the type of crew? I noticed sometimes it would be more useful to have a different type of equipme…
I haven’t played my original game in a long time, but if I remember right, the button with two overlapping units is to toggle the layering of the units. In other words, say two units were too close together and they overlapped one another, it can be difficult to select the unit under the top unit. By click on that button, it forces the top unit to go underneath the other unit, this way you can select it properly.
Thanks for your feedback. It was quick, so worth noticing. As I said, I don’t like the way “Fire Jumpers” handles, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. And I agree with you : I prefer playing coop with friends to fragging them all day long. :-)
This game was the first game I ever built. It was pretty good to start and over the last 4 years, it’s gotten a lot better! I’m an indie game developer, and I do this has a hobby, on my spare time, nights and weekends kinda thing. Well glad you’re enjoying it, that’s the whole point, isn’t it? lol
Will you be coming out with any more levels anytime soon? Great game, love it!
I am planning to add more levels, however, currently working on a pro version of FireJumpers for my government. That’ll take me until the end of April for sure. Couple bugs to fix for the mobile versions, then we’re planning to introduce a Bulldozer unit, and perhaps a more dynamic waterbomber that keeps flying around on the screen. Really, what I need is a map editor tool. :p
in regards to people not keeping saves, it’s not your problem but flash’s problem. i forgot which version but ever since i think 3 updates ago flash automatically dumps temp files on browser close. unfortunately kong save files are considered “temp” so whenever you shutdown or close you lose your files. i think this started with flash 7.0 or som…
show morethx for your message, indeed i use google chrome. hope u will fix it soon!
I do have a new version I’m almost ready to upload to Kong, however the data about your levels that are gone are unfortunately gone for good. However the patch I’ll be uploading now has a better way of saving your data that’s slightly more secure. It wasn’t so much my game as much as Chrome’s updates that messed up my code a bit. Anyway, it shouldn’t happen anymore. Also, thanks for playing FireJumpers :)
With the controls, it is the whole trying to select a unit that is neighboring another and getting one that is totally different, or finally getting the one that you want and when trying to make it go where you want you end up selecting another. I like the zoom in feature, but the small problem with the units, makes it a problem.
Ah yes, the overlapping unit shenanigans. I have been trying to work out that issue for a very long time. In this version, I did implement a solution. When two or more units begin to overlap, they get a small white circle around them to indicate that they are overlapping. If you then try to move one of them, the game pauses and the overlapping units begin to cycle.
The first unit scales up by 2x for 1 sec and overlaps the other units, then skrinks back down to normal size. The next unit in the list then does the same thing. This cycling continues until you select the unit you want.
Now I have another idea that I may try to do, and that is to create a small mini-menu of all the units, kind of like a hotkey menu. When you click the unit in the mini-menu, it would then hide all the other units so that you can then move the unit you want. Anyway, still trying to figure out a simple solution, as this game is built for mobile phones.
Thanks again for your input!
