[7 of 7] Most of the Charm spells work by basically allowing rerolls. So for the Charm of Quality for example, at the second level there are 2 randomly rolled qualities, and you are offered the better one. At max level, there are 5. The higher levels are therefore a drop in effectiveness but are still useful.

[4 of 7] Attack value (which determines the number of ticks spent in battle) is Sword + Wand + Aura of Ferocity, and affects survivability slightly because the faster the enemy dies, the less likely they are to kill you.

[1 of 7] Apparently the news post I made with this information is too old to be displayed, so here it is again in comment form. It's too long for one post, so I'll do one point per post. (I hesitate to put this directly into the game, because the mechanics are complicated - they were chosen for balance reasons only, and they aren't easy to explain.)

Thoughts upon further play: I understand why rooms can't stay cleared, because then you wouldn't be able to go back for XP. But... I'd like an easier mode. I just can't get very good at the rolls, and it's frustrating knowing that my "bad luck" is my own dang fault... except that I don't think I could EVER get good enough even to consistently not completely miss on, say, the lightsaber. I would love to be able to slow it down even just a tiny bit. And/or have the weapons numbers not randomized, but rather sorted so that being a little bit off still does okay. e.g. 0 1 3 5 7 6 4 2 0 - only way you completely miss is by being VERY off. (As an optional easy-mode thing.) If you're only a bit off, you still get a pretty high number. Oh, and is there ever a reason to defend?

This is pretty cool. At first I enjoyed the rolling, then it got tedious for a few floors, but I'm enjoying it again. I do wish that the game remembered which rooms were cleared because it slows the game down without, I think, adding to the fun or mood. I would also prefer not to have to pick which monsters I'm fighting because I invariably pick 3 (sometimes 0... rarely otherwise) and it's just a lot of clicking when I don't really know which ones are which anyway. Neat, though.

Okay, I think I caught everybody that messaged me or was on here, but just in case: I am a bit hesitant to send you a savefile that will almost certainly cause SOME loss of progress, when others have had success just jumping right back in after I posted the fix. I don't want anyone to receive it and then immediately load it up, losing their own data which might have worked. So just message me again if you are still having problems and I will send it over right away. (I now have the code in place that will allow me to create just about any file in 5 or 10 minutes). Thanks! That goes for anybody, really. Whether it was my fault or not, if you've lost progress for whatever reason, just hit me up and I'll do my best to get you going again.
