If you don't get the point of the story, the entire storyline is the visit from the Psychologist. The "challenges" are pictures and objects shown to him by the Psychologist which he has to explain what it feels like and means. He's explaining to the Psychologist that it's like how his life used to be except that he's doing it all by himself instead of with Kathryn. He then goes on to explain about what happened with Kathryn, but it's unsure of how she died, probably with a challenge they did together. The green box at the end of every challenge signifies the box that he had to find to put her into. The flowers that you spawn at/checkpoint are the 2 flowers he put next to her grave. Personally, I think she died a normal death, and he just put her in the box and buried her because he couldn't handle her death. But that's just me.

This game is amazing, by the end, you actually feel for Jack. My only wish is that the speed of the scrolling text be greater, or that one could control it.

Truly is one of the most touching games I have ever had the experience to play, I felt alone and isolated with no one to help me but myself. On top of the amazingly heartfelt but ingeniously relatable story, the gameplay was tight and the level design was genius. Please make a HD version of this game...

I just came back to replay this game (why wouldn't you?), and now I see that both Edmund Mcmillen AND Florian Himsl tested this game. Epic.

That was so good. I loved the story and the music and of course the gameplay. Also, did I see that Florian Himsl had tested this game???

Anyone notice how the level where he accidentally kills Kathryn looks similar to the second-to-last level in Fixation?

These kinds of games are the rarest out there, in my opinion. Anyone can make a great action RPG game, or a brilliant shooter game. But to create a touching backstory in a simple, heartwarming game...now that's hard.

to beat the last level i pretty much broke the game. i spawned a whole bunch of shadows and at some point in the middle of the gap i held the forward and jump button. you couldn't see the shadows any more but you could make it across.

the main character from close..... a man with no face..... this might explain why he is after children as he can't approach people normally after kathryn died =/
