I created an account because of this game. As one who suffers from depression (like so many) and the loss of loved ones, This game tugged at the very essence of myself. I can relate to the character in the story and am blown away that a simple game such as this would make me recall those memories. I applaud the creator of this emotional journey. Thank you for this. The music is quite fitting with the overall story.

The level 20 is incredibly omg. by the way, i see the poem of the shrink leaves and bla bla bla, and it's the end but i don't see anything else to play with this game.

The hermit is an every day guy who can take on tough challenges that usually requires multiple people all by himself. One day he meets a girl, who makes those challenges easier than ever. They fell in love, and took on countless challenges together. One day, during one of those challenges, he accidentally kills her in the process of completing it. He doesn't realize it was his fault. He is torn apart, but is able to go back to how he used to live. He buries her in a green box, it being the only thing he can fit her in other than a coffin. He places two flowers on her burial mound and resumes his life. After discovering her dead in his backyard, he is brought to a hospital where he sits in a solitary confinement room; alone, once again. A shrink comes to visit him on occasion and he continues to tell his tale of solitude and remorse each time he sees him.
This story is very moving, bringing a tear to my eye each time I play it. Wonderful job, to all who made it. 5/5

great games so far stuck on level 12 i think. the one with the different colored blocks were you have to have your shadow clone thing pull the levers at the right time.

to really understand the story you have to beat the game. very sad :( idk if he did kill her but i hope not but ya maybe she did just die and if they were married or something or dating then im guessing the challenges they faced as a team is challenges you and your partner usually have to face in marrage or in dating. :( great story but sad i almost cried.

Sad game at the end.. I feel so sorry for him and the loss of Kathyrn.. As soon as I saw that he lost his loved one Kathyrn I gave it five stars hoping that would make Kathyrn come back to him.

I'm really impressed about this game, there is a really story in it. most of the games are just for fun, but there is more in this game, a real story, a moral.. Love it !!!!

At the last level, I had exactly one "shadow" standing at the ledge on the other side looking at me as I reached the green box/door. That almost made me start crying...
"Are you really leaving?"

All levels complete 5min. First Try... Interesting story but could definitely use a difficulty boost. That's my two cents...

Thanks everyone for being so helpful. I say that I am having problems with the game, and instead of helping me so I can play too, u all vote them down. Lemme try this again.... I cannot enter the door in the first level. It only restarts the level... is anyone else having this problem and how can i fix it?

For whatever reason, I can't get past the intro screen. Although it says to click anywhere to skip, it just keeps looping regardless. :(

5/5. Sad, yet touching, in a way. There should be a section here on kongregate made especially for games like Loved, Don't look back, and this. + if you agree ^^

people are going crazy over this game. yes it is very fun, yes it is quite sad and quite clever. but lets not go overboard people, its hardly oscar winning stuff. People all like 'omg soooo sad I cried at the end' or 'ohhh wow the story is so deep and clever' .... its like..... really? I don't wanna be harsh, cos i loved it too, but i think people are getting a bit carried away, just because it has a 'sad' theme to it. Basically, if you think this was sad, I would advise you never read Schindlers Ark.

Like any movie or some story it requires imagination and our own perception to interpret the meaning of the story, resulting in different results, same of this particular abstract story.
I myself think Jack did murder his beloved. He wasn't sentenced because he spent days in his house, as he explained in one of the levels, alone, extremely traumatized. He does remember but he doesn't seem to want to talk of anything else. When he sees the pictures shown to him, which are the levels, he sees back to his life and how he suffered without Kathrin.
Finally he said something about different perspectives, and if he could not meet Kathryn in the first place...

It's very nice that games can have morals & an emotional background. But if this moved you, let me introduce you to a radical new invention called a "book." This is emotional, but compared to so much more the world has to offer, it's also pretty tame. If this made you cry, I suggest you stop playing silly little games & experience the world a bit more.

This game is one of the saddest games I have played. Every time I play this, I try to save Kathryn . . . but I never can. The ending just made me depressed, sad, and made me cry.

This game is solid proof...... proof that video games are works of art. This is a piece of both liteature and music.
