Wow. Seeing how deep this game is, depending on how you look at it, I wonder if the creator based it off an actual story.

Absolutely amazing. I wish more games were set up to be as moving as this one. Truly a 10/10, better than a lot of console games someone would pay $60 for. The music at the end is also beautiful. Too bad there won't be a sequel... oh well, this game really doesn't need one.

Beating level 20 is easy, just spamm up while pressing right. and when you fall down, press spacebar and repeat untill you have crossed the gap.

The storyline is just sad but great and i agree with kanacali about all of it.i give this a rating 0f 5/5 and it is one of the best games i have ever played.Surely it was the saddest.

Great game. 4/5. It is very sad though that the man has to be all alone with no one to help him get past all those levels.

Very great game, deppressed me to the max and if a game effects my emotions in such a way then it must be one of the best in its catagory. This game half reminds me of the story of Jack the Ripper, the famous criminal who murdered his wife was sent to a mental hospital and escaped years later, coincidentally one of Jack the Rippers trademark features was his black hat as seen in this game. I believe this is a way of describing how Jack Felt emotionally going through all of what he went through and did, maybe Jack the Ripper did feel like this, maybe he was sitting in his own puddle of sorrow, guilt, and misery. 5/5

5/5 just a perfect game i almost shed to tears.The story is just great and sad.Whoever does not think that this game deserves a good rating,the just do not get the story and do not feel the pain of it.

I love games like this one with a deeper meaning behind them like "Loved". Too bad they get little respect or are dwarfed by other games. Five Stars *****

This game is truly inspired. I never saw the ending being that he murdered Kathrine. The gameplay isn't even a large part of the game, to me, it is mostly the story. So few games ever actually affect the way you see the world around you. This is a game that changed my perspective entirely. The symbolism was fantastic, and this actually deserves a 5/5 rating from everyone who plays it.

i think that him and kathryn were doing sumthing with the green box and she died while they were doing that sumthing idk what but prolly sumthing heavy. very beautiful should have its own catagory along with a bunch of other deep, moving, and beautiful games 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000/5

On the last challenge, personally I made tons of copies of myself and jumped on them to get across, aren't all those copies a metaphor for how Jack has been telling the same story over and over for all that time, and yet nothing changed, but at the end when he got into the door it was all over, like how the psychologist left, his story was done.

I play this game on occasion still, just to see the story again. This is my favorite game on kongregate by a large margin.

hey 2d great game and i would like to see a game called company of herself which would be about kathryn who the hermit loved. You could show how her life was similar that of the hermit. Also you could touch up on the relationship more.
