Now this ending is just morally wrong. No one should get to play God in a situation like this. He was holding on to the last remnants of his life simply by recounting it to the one person who would listen beyond the walls of his mind. Whatever the illness, any good doctor would have seen this and at the very least continued sessions so he wouldn't be completely lost. Chances are he never killed his wife, but made a fatal mistake that didn't at the time seem like anything such as let the wrong man in the house or something that induced his mental instability. Now he is left to rot for a crime he may not have committed to the end of a life not worth living anymore.

Every time I play this game I start to cry at the end. This is such a great game. In the history of flash games I wil say that this has to be the best one. There are a few games with a similar feel: Every Day the Same Dream is one. I can't remember what the other one is; After, or something like that. All I can remember is that you were in a bunker and had been a test subject for the government. It had multiple endings where you found your wife and child murdered and a note that you scrawled on the wall in their blood and you also find the guy who oversees the place hang himself if you go a different way. Another one you see is a city getting nuked. I think that there was one more ending that was happy though...

This is the most: Lovely, Sad, Depressing game that I've ever considered to actually make sense. 11/10. This is so touching.

Obviously Devesis didn't read or understand the actual concept of this game. Dude needs to ponder or at least attempt to understand the game before making comments. That's like if I played Halo Reach or Skyrim and didn't pay attention and started running my mouth how the Nobles suck compared to Master Chief or how a dragon should be able to easily kill a person(for the record I don't believe any of that).

WHAT! i played as some one that killed his wife and stuffed her into a box!? how is that touching it makes me want to lock my doors and get a gun in fear of being crammed into a box.

The level where the girl falls into the pit, I considered just quitting then so they could keep living together happily

This is definately my favourite game of everything, I love the puzzle aspect and the storyline is incredible, I first played it 2-3 years ago and it has even more meaning to me now. It would be neat if there was an alternate ending when you kill jack on the second to last flashback level.

The stage wherein Jack pull the Black Lever with Kathryn while she is stepping on it signifies that he murdered her. Well for me. This gives me goosebumps and tears in my eye. This game has so much meaning.

I just played fixation and its really sad. Because of the medication he was taking, he doesn't remember any of what happened, and what happened to Kathryn is unknown. You don't even see her again once she falls down the pit when he pulls the switch. That means that maybe nothing bad happened to her, but Jack thought he had killed her when he pulled the switch. Throughout the story, Jack and Kathryn talk about what happens when you die. Maybe Kathryn did die but went to a better place. Kathryn's psychologist also dies, so maybe that is why Jack now sees one for himself.

...more challenging because summoning more shadow men = lag. hahaha.. I'd personally say it was one heck of a lucky leap to actually land on one of the shadow man's head to get to the other side. To those who finished this, I recommend you try "Fixation". The backgrounds, music, story and stuffs are better. (but it wont still show how Kathryn actually died though.)

I played the prequel before actually playing this one. Kathryn here looks different from the prequel "fixation". Hehehe. But in fairness, I find this one more challenging than "fixation". But fixation is more dynamic since you get to meet with more people and different ambiance. Good job 2DArray. :)

How is it possible that there are more people winning level 20 than level 5?? there is 184,475 people who beat level 5 and there are 226,453 people who beat level 20... ?????

Games like this reminds me that these games aren't just thrown under the rug due to new shooters or fast action games + if you agree for all you gamers that think this is sad yet beautiful :)

@fuedalism braid is a, um. Heavily story based time-based platformer. Basically my qualm is that with these sorts of games, I really love seeing gameplay and story tied together in some deeper fashion, and I felt like Company of Myself was sort of lacking in that. But, I see that my previous critique was thumbs-down-ed quite a bit, so apparently it made people unhappy, which really was not my intent. So I apologize to those individuals.

@uberleetmanz, I agree... i'm wondering why that is myself. (as in, why did it get a medium badge before getting an easy one?!?) and it's kinda funny. @marsupialpancake, I don't know what game this "Braid" is, but I do know this. i've NEVER seen a game with soo much emphasis on storyline, or with a better thought out story. and I agree, it's not extremely challenging, but it's not meant to be. it's the STORY which matters in this game. AND, the music is also possibly the best game music EVER. so, i don't get what you have against it, but I guess it's just personal taste. and you are really against the norm here. :P Besides, this isn't "coming out" its been out for a long time.

was actually dissatisfied with the game unlike other players, it seems. Feels too much like a Braid clone without the thoroughness of a well thought out story/concept. Ending was mediocre and game was neither challenging nor particularly enjoyable.
It's nice to see more games coming out with a focus on story, but this was not one of the better ones I've seen. Good effort, though! The self duplicating trope is always entertaining to play with, at least.

Now that this game's prequel has been released - this game has become even more awesome in my eyes than it already was.
