To get past final level, you simply need to hold the right button while mashing the up button to commit suicide right off the cliff, and keep mashing the up and holding the right for a few seconds after you fall off the cliff, then restarting like that over and over and over. Eventually either you or a shadow will reach the door.

Good game. And yes, the ending got to me a little. During the end story, there are weird sounds about every 15 seconds or so. Are those bugs, Jack jumping around, or the sound of a shovel digging. Odd that there are only four or five of them.
Only complaint? Wish I'd known about checkpoints. Woulda saved about two minutes of staring at the screen.

I love this game. The controls are simple and the challenges aren't frustratingly hard or mind numbingly easy.
But the story line is what really makes this a great game. 5/5

very, very impressed, i've played many games on kongregate, and i've never encountered another games as challenging, addictive, or indeed shocking (great twist at the end!!) as this. ticks every box 10/10

What is wrong with happy endings to trippy puzzle games?
Seriously, they're all basically identical in this regard. Vaguely profound deeper meaning obfuscated by confusing monologue + Eventual Progression Towards Ending - Clarity - Happiness.
