The latest update includes a lot of improvements, including better controls, fast forward movement, enemy tuning, and adjusted camera to better see enemies ahead.

There isn't nearly enough time to react. This is probably due to the FOV and how far ahead you are able to see, but you can feel it immediately and I'm surprised that wasn't sorted out in playtesting.
