Description
A story-driven inspection horror game in two chapters.
CHAPTER 1 – THE LAST FERRY
October 1957. You keep the ticket booth at the end of Saltmere dock, and the last ferry leaves at three. Five years ago the night ferry Marigold went down off Hollin Point, and some of her passengers are still trying to cross. Check the ticket, tonight’s list, the register, their answers, the way they look. Stamp BOARD for the living, DENY for the dead. Three mistakes and you will not see the morning.
CHAPTER 2 – THE OTHER SHORE
December 1957. The Marigold’s dead are coming ashore at Hollin Bay, and the town is falling asleep. Keep the arrivals office: read the telegraph tape, keep the ledger, question whoever steps off the boat, and decide who is landed and who is sent back. A quieter, deeper chapter, best played after Chapter 1.
- Inspection horror in rain, fog, storm and snow
- A register with a file for everyone in town
- A story told through papers, telegrams and an archive
- Voiced intro and endings, each with its own music
- More than one ending in each chapter
- Endless Nights, and night replays in Chapter 2
- English or Russian (Русский)
Desktop only. Age 13+ (jump scares, no gore).
Some of the art, voices and sounds were made with the help of AI tools, then edited and assembled by hand.
How to Play
Chapter 1: click the ticket, the list, the register and the stamp on the desk to open them. Click the brass grille to ask the passenger a question. Tools: click one in the tray on the right to hold it; click it again, right click or Esc to put it down. Register: type the name from the ticket and press Enter (each search costs a few minutes of the night). Stamp BOARD or DENY.
Chapter 2: open it from Chapters on the title screen. Click the telegraph to read its tape, the ledger for tonight’s arrivals and telegrams, and the passenger to ask about the names you know. Land the living and send the rest back, as each night’s orders say.
Esc or the brass button in the corner: pause, how to play, language, volume, back to the menu.
Developer Updates
Ghost Ferry v1.5.1 – The way on after Chapter 1
A small fix, from your comments:
- When you finish Chapter 1, the end screen now has a Chapters button first, and it tells you the story goes on: the Flashback (The Marigold, 1952) and Chapter 2 are open there. Before, it only offered night 5 again, the endless nights or a new game, and some of you finished the chapter without finding the rest.
Thank you to loading___ and JustynHuras for pointing it out!
Your progress is kept as always.

seizes up in training
Found it, thank you! In the training, leaving the register before finishing the lookup could leave the desk stuck. Fixed in the next update, coming shortly.

UGH, I used the mirror on a dead man, he was visible in the mirror! apparently nope, the rain ran off him wrong ... I can barely see the people on the screen! Also tutorial is bugged, I can't search for people unless I copied the list before hand so the game is just gets stuck there. I do like this game, 3/5 Got some bugs to fix.
Thank you for such a detailed comment, it helped a lot! Update 1.2.3 is out: the register now shows the name from the ticket under the search box (just click it), there's a brightness slider in the pause menu (Esc), and the mirror now explains that it only catches some of the dead. That dead man was given away by the rain, but the game should have told you so, and now it does. The tutorial getting stuck was fixed in 1.2.2. Hope the next shift goes better!

Proof that not all AI games are trash. I can tell time and effort went into this. I hope this was a soft launch and there will be more to come. Keep paying attention to the details. Story was good, but more nights, more flesh to the story, more time to investigate hard to spot ghosts.
Thank you, this really means a lot. A huge amount of time went into the details, the story and the register files, so it's great to hear it shows. Your wish for more nights, more story and harder ghosts to spot is noted. If the ferry keeps sailing, there's more of the harbour to tell.

Found a small error, after playing the 5 chapter 1 nights again (because I'm OCD) there are 3 options: Night 5 again, Endless nights (fun) or New Game erase and start over ... Why no button to go back to chapters? Also why no new game +(would make the game harder)?
Thank you, and you’re right, that was a real gap. A player told me the same today: he finished Chapter 1 and never found the rest. The next update puts a Chapters button first on the end screen, and the page says that the Flashback and Chapter 2 are open there. Until then, they’re under Chapters on the title screen. New Game+ is a great idea. A harder replay of Chapter 1 (fewer flames, quicker nights, sneakier dead) fits the booth well. I’m writing it down for the next big Ghost Ferry update. Thanks for playing it all again, OCD and all!

So on all the play throughs I find it funny Hale states clear if a ghost knows my name to not talk to them, but I have no name/name tag in the game. Would be spooky if one of them did know a name I put in, but I'd still do the job of checking them just can't question them.
You’re right, and it’s a great catch! Hale warns you about it, but the game never asks your name. We’re adding it: you’ll sign the keeper’s book before your first shift, and from night 3 one of the dead may greet you by name. When that happens you can’t question them through the grille, you’ll have to judge them on the papers alone. Thank you!
