PETROLEUM AND POLITICIANS is a game about a civil war over oil drilling rights in Ivory Coast. You play the democratically elected leader of Ivory Coast, and you must defeat an insurgency led by an exiled former dictator. This game builds on the game engine used in DICTATORS AND DEMONSTRATORS and PANZERS AND PARATROOPERS. In this game, your enemy’s supply bases lie beyond Ivorian borders, and you cannot capture them. Great game! I just beat it on Medium. Here's how:
Keep Free Elections in your hand and start saving up for troops and popularity. Discard all other 3-cards to get these two resources.
If you get Trade agreement then hang on to it, but keep saving up. Make sure your Intel is above the limit so you can see the opponent's card.
After you play Free elections, go for Trade agreement. When you have played both of these, you can start beating back the enemy. Close his supply heads with the toll card, later destroy them with drone strikes.

Maybe put up a warning when you try to play a card that wouldn't be able to resolve (example:playing a ground assault if you have no supply heads). That way you don't end up wasting already scarce resources. This one is super challenging. Good work!
