The Impossible Castle is designed to absorb all of the impact from either rocks or bombs and it allows the central column to absorb it, bending very little in the process. As you can see, alternating between stone and metal worked very well in the last level. Trust me, it makes the castle a whole lot stronger. Plus as a bonus my castle is hard to hit w/cluster bombs on a lagging comp because it is far away.

the bombs are pretty useless on 22, the 3 bombs just reach the first 2 guys, but they cant reach the main castle so you somehow have to hit it with the 3 big rocks
