To those who have the lag / shooting early problem: you have to wait until the blocks completely settle for it to run smooth. When the level starts, let it sit for a good 10-20 seconds, then your shot will work fine. Once you have the bombs, you can tell when it has smoothed out by when the bomb fuses stop lagging.

lvl5 - the ammo goes off the screen as the arm flies up and disappears, which somehow counts as a shot despite nothing being fired. I can't go any further in the game if I can't fire anything on lvl5...
