There is a sort of glitch, where you don't die upon falling on spikes. All you have to do is keep pressing "Z" as you fall towards them (only works if you have a jetpack), then you will jetpack as you touch the spikes and fly back up. + so everyone can see! =D

@nihil, actually i think there are a lot different common plot twists then this, GLaDoS was not nessasarly a mother figure, just a crazy AI. soooooooo, that nixes out that, a more common plot twister would be "It was all a dream" or "I'm not the real enemy, he's the real enemy!!!" type things.

i hate this thing. calling it a game would be an insult to all real games. trust me-PASS! i hate those stupid wind vents (the things that look like they're shooting rapid-fire) because they dont get you anywhere!

*Another* game where the mother figure turns out to be bad? Psychiatrists would have a field day in here, I think.
Also, Portal was released 3 years ago. Time to come up with a new plot twist here, guys.

Amazing Fun Gameplay time of 50:00. Such a beautiful story-line. One of the best game I ever played in a long time, worthy a cry.

Great music! Really liked it, with the headphones! The only thing about is the transition between 2 songs when you switch screen.

Fantastic game. Brilliant atmosphere, really drew me into the game. Simple mechanic, bought to an entirely different level through everything else in the game. Definitely must be played with the sound on. The ending was superb. 4.5/5

Nice game, but too much running around trough the same levels again and again and again. After having to go back to the beginning the *third* time (coming from the red levels), I gave up. It’s not worth it. All fun is gone anyway. 3/5, but should be less. I hate level re-usage.

Also, a few bugs or notable features: I'm not sure if this is a feature or a bug, but it seems you can escape without activating the destruction of the facility. The second time (I had died due to not escaping in time), I wanted to try out NOT activating it and just escaped, and I finished the game fine.

Ah, finally finished it. Quick game, and it was okay to play...
The story was actually really short, and the ending seemed pretty predictable, but the conversation at the end was pretty awesome, and it seems to be just calling out for a sequel/backstory prequel thingy :D
What this DID remind me of was Portal, but I've never played Metroid...
All in all, pretty worthwhile to play~ 3.5/5 (I'll put 4/5)
Also, it turns out that you can beat this WITHOUT getting the Compressor (it was the missing item I mentioned last comment)... instead of ducking to dodge the cannon shots, I had respawned for a temporary invincibility, and ran like crazy. (I did finish the game with 73 deaths though xD)

Had no idea you could shoot up until the last room when you have no other option. Fun game but I don't think i want to try to escape again. Time ran out on me and I was probably not even half way back yet. Normally I won't quit a game until I finish it if I really like it. I liked this game but for some reason I just don't feel like trying over and over to run the hell out of there. Cool concept. Props to the people that put it together.

am i missing something i am in the second map and im stuck down here and cant get up through the bubble lift thing can someone help me?

I'm not sure if I was supopsed to get a double jump or jetpack or something, but on the first "Stage" or whatever, where you first meet a cannon-thingy, I died and respawned so that I couldn't be hit by its blast for a few seconds, and quickly jumped to the next one, and I'm not sure I should have done that, because I'm pretty sure I missed an item...

"IT'S KIND OF LIKE METROID" -- That's what I was thinking from whan I had to backtrack... And three escape minutes! LOL

I got the duck upgrade last, you can get past the point where the gun shoots bullets and blocks the path unless u can duck by waiting for the monster to get in the front of the gun and block the bullets and make a dash for it.

Really enjoyed the music and art design (my favorite scene was the one where you have to drop down the huge empty pit with the camera zoomed way out--that did a lot to show just how lonely the main character must feel). The ending kinda fell flat, though; I wanted to know more than just a bare sketch of what happened. (I also could've done without the HEY GUYS THIS GAME IS KINDA LIKE METROID LOL during my mad dash to the exit.) Still, I definitely had fun with this game.

Sorry, but the map design is just too annoying. I love metroidvania games and the presentation here is great but this just hit me as too much running from A to B, back to A, back to B, etc. The final straw for me was coming at the boss fight in the green area from the wrong direction. I even defeated it by shooting through the wall, but now I can't get what it dropped without trekking back through a whole series of the same rooms (again).

What just happened? I got the "Structural Breakdown" warning... Then I started running around in a frenzied way trying to find the exit... Then everything went back to just before I got the thingum that was dangerous.
