Managed first 7/8 levels before dying - but the badge isn't telling me how many I killed :/ Think I'll just give up...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It would be helpful if the '100 enemies killed Best so far:' actually showed a figure as a guide to necessary future performance.

random number of enemies per day = money, can't get hard badge just because I'm unlucky is dumb - tried 4-5 times - didn't get hit once - just buyed nail and artillery - always on repair away from completing within 11 days - just sucks - still i liked the rest of the game

Man these are the most efficient researches ever...can e get the IRL?
Seriously they develop new weapons overnight :v

Thanks to Failen's strategy, I got Medium/Hard badge together in one run. The ending credits animation were also pretty amusing. Good game!

I accidentally got the Medium and Hard badges before the Easy badge lol. Its really not as hard as people claim it is.

Hard badge is all luck. How lucky you are with birds spawning and killing off the tanks. One of the worst badges ive seen. Its not fun banking on a birds and none comes, or spending a few Ks on a couple of sentries and suddenly a murder comes flying in. Really shitty bagde.

DawgPeter is just downing the game because he had a bad experience. The badges are not difficult. I got all three in my first play, no restart or anything, just first actualy paly of the game trying for the Badge of the Day. Fun and simple.

I have nothing positive to say. It is basic repetitive ugly and controls like ass. Sound is annoying and simply poor. I hope this was a college project. I got to level 18 with no idea how to play and could have kept going for as long as I wanted to. Simply put this game killed my time and I wish I had it back. So I am taking more time to complain about it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I find the random amounts of money more problematic in getting the hard badge than the controls. The first time I played I got $2000 the first day other times $1400. Even with only buying artillery I come up about $200 short.

Jesus people complain about the controls..they work perfectly fine, Yeah its hard to grab the weapon you need in time, that is the point of the game, I get that the nail is a bit confusing at the VERY beginning, But just use your head, its a nail, stab things with it and it works just fine.

cute little game, but intentionally having extremely difficult controls does not mean that the game is genuinely challenging. 2/5

No skip for opening or end... Random waves (and random amounts of gold?) I'm not going to keep playing this for a *chance* at a hard badge. 3/5

Fun game, tho I'm going to have to invest in a mouse for my laptop if im gonna get the hard badge. The touch pad keeps scrolling the screen up and down when i try and go to fast x.x

I did better when I was using only artillery than when I was trying to upgrade things.. On another note, why are dinosaurs, birds, blobs of goo, balls of fire, balloons, and for the love of god MARSHMALLOWS want to board your damaged ship?

the nail only works when swung in a diagonal from right to left downwards. the point of the nail should also be the part that touches enemies first.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
To those claiming that the rusty nail is not working the very tip is the only part that works. Just the tip, nothing else. Stop trying to use a nail as anything other than a nail.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The rusty nail does not work. At all. There's probably a pixel somewhere that's in its collision box, but i've been unable to find it in well over a hundred tries on all different parts of the blob, and a few more in various spots nearby but off the actual sprite itself.

I think the game needs a big Boss or something like that on the lastest days before day 20, each five days a different boss

cool little game. controls a bit annoying. also i found it kind of confusing, the "repair ship" option and the "heal" ship option, because of the way it is displayed in the upgrade menu

I followed instructions to get hard badge "complete in 11 days", I bought golden nailin last day,due I had extra money to spend it and was sure to get enough money to buy last repair.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
If you want the hard badge, buy only artillery and nothing else. It only takes 4 hits to pop the air balloons, so upgrading the nail really isn't necessary. I bought only the artillery, and still I took no damage. Be aware that the nail deals damage only when it's moving down and/or left, to simulate a poking motion with its graphic. Enemies per day and gold per enemy are both random, as you can see in how the spoils of the first level can be anywhere from 1600 to 2100. That's a big spread. I finished on day 11, with slightly more than 4000 gold remaining, which is just barely enough to afford the golden nail. It was clear that I could have wound up with less than 4000 gold, if I had to use slightly more artillery shots, or if I received slightly less gold from enemies. So don't buy the golden nail. As for my review, Shore Siege is a reasonably fun diversion which ends just before it wears out its welcome. 3/5.
