Umm, not quite "bouncingelf" There are far too many complex Political ,Social, Economic, and Imperialistic issues that caused The Great War to even discuss here. Diplomatically however, Germany was drawn into war by its ally the Austro-Hungarian Empire, when Archduke Franz- Ferdinand was assassinated in Serbia. Afterward Serbia refused to investigate the matter any further, fearing it would implicate high ranking Serbians. Russia Backed Serbia's move and began mobilizing troops. Germany responded by issuing an ultimatum to Russia, which the promptly ignored. War was declared on Russia which was allied to France and Great Britain. Take some History classes "Elf"

awesome game. assault group is best imo. they brought down plenty of tanks and took trenches easily.
Never really did much more than send assault groups and use 2 gunners + an officer per trench. Tanks are ok.

My God!What an awesome game! This game rocks. The only problem I had was that the enemy Mortar strikes were very, VERY accurate.Seems like they were sending homing missiles.Other than that, great game.1337/5.

maybe make it so its a number of troops instead of 3 groups that go into a trench, that way if some die u can reinforce it without sacrificing a troop. Also with that you could make it so each troop is made 1 at a time or so

and skipping a level is fun because? it just means you have less experience for a level where that experience is helpful, you have less abilities/improvements and why would you skip? the levels are fun xD

This game is a definate 5/5. I think they should've made the enemy have to wait a little longer for their tanks to come back though.

My tactic for the last level:
tank tank tank tank tank
antitank on enemy tanks
gas on enemy trenches
other 2 fire supports on all enemys :)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The only sure fire way to actually win the last level is if you get that support fire skill that reloads them real fast (it's the last tier on the left) and just use those support fire to break enemy morale. Only use snipers only if they get to close to your side. The gas and anti-tank is a must and mortars & artillery with 30% more dmg to tanks is a good backup.

last level suuucks, they deploy tanks and plenty of infantry... If i use a tank it's destroyed by their freaking mines, I have to send in about 5 Assault teams to even REACH the first trench they're all killed by the damn mines! Of course by this time my morale is absolutely shot to hell because they're deploying a 2nd tank, my tank died, 20 of my men died by freaking mines...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
awesome but i dont like mines thats the ONLY THING WRONG.... BUT there along with trenches should be walls and bunkers or somthin 4.95/5 only 4 the mines!

also make ai smarter, they send a sniper at point blank range sometimes, they spam officers and then get owned,ai dosen't have much of a strategy
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
make it where you can click a soldier to deply b4 its ready to be made so the ai wont deply faster than you, and make it where bombs dont drop on all of my troops constantly and not them or not any of us unless using support, ive had cases where i deployed sniper/officer 3-5 times in a row and each time they die about 5 seconds after they freakin spawn, and either make machine gunner better or make rifleman+assualt worse because the machine gunner isen't doing good, officers almost have the range of a sniper

Omg hate last level died like 10 times before figuring a good tactic...I just put everything into tanks...just clicked on tank then waited and used support fire then when tank comes up again click on it...took out about 5 tanks before i won

also WWI was supposedly started when a serb shot the duke of Austria.
So the Austrains asked help from the Germans and the Serbs asked for the British to help. Later on Italy, Russia, Japan and USA got dragged into the war

i think its said how the human race makes and plays games like this. i must admit tho i do very much like these kinda games. but most games dont even portray the realities of war. this game gets close but no one will ever be able to experience war unless they take part in one themselves

As soon as I finished this game; Do not Stand at my Grave and Weep came on the radio. It brought me to tears; how brutal WWI was. This game is painfully honest with the stark truth.
