enemy gets WAY more resources then i do, he gets 1 tank, 1 rocket squad, 1 officer + air support and 4 other squads i didn't see. i got 1 tank, 1 rocket squad, 1 50.cal squad + 400 extra recs. what i had wast about the same cost as what i SAW, the other 4 squads that were on the other side of the map were apperantly free for him :/

See the secret to winning this game is spamming grenades. Enemy is entrenched with 500 soldiers behind 1 broken wine barrel? Spam grenades. Enemy has 5 tanks in a row? Throw a lot of grenades at them. Why grenades have larger range and more damage than bazookas is beyond me but thats the way it is.

to put it in perspective for all those Americans who think they single handedly won the war: Russia and Germany fought on the eastern front a war that was FOUR TIMES larger than the western side. Ie, nearly the rest of the war combined.

@Battlecock if you indeed studied american history you would be more carefull with what you say. I dunno the number but if america lost more troops than russia then you must have had some crap generals. And last time I checked they were pretty good. That and the brits kept the germans at bay for quite a long time, they did not have the population to invade germany so stop slandering their efforts. Truth is that America's conduct was far from heroic in WW2, waiting years and letting your suposed friends getting run over until you finally decide to help them isn't in any way heroic. That and I do hope that you learned in your history degree that without France you would have lost the war for independence. (I'm portuguese btw, we were neutral and kept helping the side that seemed to have power in WW2, not proud of those actions)

@battlecock america didn't start sending troops over til the middle of the war, because they were fighting the Japanese in the pacific, and even then they just stayed on British bases til D-Day. if anything the it was the rebels in the occupied countries that won the war as they sent back information to the war office so they could formulate the plan for D-Day. and Russia lost most of their male population(probably slight exaggeration) fighting on the eastern front where they held off the Germans with little to no help from the allies. over all it was a combined effort but some countries contributed more than others so no one country won the war themselves other wise it would defeat the purpose of being a World War. btw a minor in history or wat ever you got is worth f-all cos history everywhere is biased towards the country it is being taught in

Tanks are ridiculously rigged, as soon as one gets 1/2 way down the map, you're screwed. Stupid bazookas wait until they're practically on top of them to fire.

@Rootbeer, Where did I say we had no allies? I didnt, I simply stated the FACTS, Im was minoring in US History, and what I sated is 100% true, yes it wasnt our war, and thats the point, we fought and WON a war that wasnt ours in the 1st place, now thats somthing worth remebering, and if it hadnt been for our troops, we would ALL be speaking German. Simple as that.

This is indeed pretty terrible. A tank is coming. Bazooka troopers ready. Tank in 50 meters. Waiting. Tank in 30 meters, surely within the range. Waiting. Just shoot it already. Machinegunned by tank up close. Facepalm.

Russia Lost by FAR the most men, so you cannot play the "we lost the most men" card, as a welshman sure I appriciate what your generals such as Patton did for the Uk and europe
but if you think about it really.

@Battlecock. Dude, if we had no alllies (We meaning Americans) We would of been toast. WW2 right? It wasn't our war in the first place, i think they attacked our ship, so we started hwlping fight those German.

@Battlecock, you honestly think that america lost more lives then russia, whos whole military strategy was "charge the enemies or we kill you". russia lost more people then any other 2 nations combined. also, you dont seem to relise the germans didnt want the russians getting to berlin so they had most of their men on the eastern front in an effort to prevent the russians from reaching berlin. and, america had a higher population then either canada OR the UK, along with the fact the the UK and canada were in the war longer so they had less men TO loose by the time we landed at normandy

@ahellon, Most of these games are done about Americans, because we had more than triple the troops of any of the countries you just named COMBINED, and further more Americans lost TRIPLE the lives due to this, maybe if everyone else that was "actually" being affected by the war chipped in a bit more, people may remeber them for it. Can't change the past, point is America won the war, with LITTLE to NO help from anyone.

I have to say that this game doesn't reveal the whole "story" of that years, it wasn't only Americans who died heroically fighting against the Germans but also the Brits, Canadians and Russians. *Just a suggestion* It would awesome if you could add a group of soldiers from these great countries, I mean 1 group with at least 4 ppl.

@omerci Just because a bazooka team is good against it doesn't mean a tank is bad against it. In pokemon, bug is good against dark. Dark does normal against bug. Or we could say they are both dragon type. Dragon is good against dragon. So there. Pineapples.

As a British girl I'd just like to say that added to the 73,000 American troops involved in the Normandy landings, there were also 61,000 British & 22,000 Canadian. You Americans were amazing & crucial, but we got stuck in too! :)

In the last mission, my army was at breaking point. I sent a tank and nearly flanked the Krauts. 3 squads who followed the tank flanked the Krauts and brought their morale low. I then sent a squad of rifleman and machine gun. The gunner overkilled the German infantry and they surrendered, with my army still at breaking point. Woot?
