Game got much more enjoyable once I figured out how the mana system worked. Too bad the game only has a crappy inaccurate explanation of it.

Yeah... AI needs a lot of improvement. I send out Valkieries to fight and the opponent has a water type unit, and a thunder type unit. He sends out the low level water type rather than the higher level thunder type... It's almost not a challenge anymore with the AI.

LOL, you sellout money-grubbing cash cow. I respected you and loved your games. What were you thinking? "I can make great games now, I think I DESERVE money for what I do. I should do what Facebook games do and rob all my fans of their money because money is the only thing I care about" Epic War was a great series, never thought you would stoop so low. I hope that someone makes a game similar to yours and blindside, obliterates and humiliates you competitively. Shame on you.

yup... REALLY HATE THE ENERGY, THE FARMING LEVELS OVER AND OVER, USING 5 BARS OF MANA TO SUMON A CREATURE THAT ONLY TAKES 1, AND OF COURSE, THE TIME LIMIT!!!!!11!1!11!! and the fact thats it a "crystal" dominant game, where you use crystals to actually get fun out of the game once your mid leveled

we should be able to sell items because it's a pain trying to get crystals and gold. We should also be able to exchange gold for crystals except instead of 15k gold for 200 crystals, maybe we exchange 30k gold for 200 crystals? make the exchange the other way around and double the price.

this game obliterates my internet. Can't even do Pandora when im playing. I have 5-7mb per second, enough to do several high quality streams at the same time and still play fast paced pvp games online. What the hell is it doing?

As with all games on Kongregate with similar mechanics, the energy bar is an instant turnoff, and the requirement of an energy bar for solo play is abhorrent.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
What's different --and dare I say BAD-- about this game is that you can't "conserve" energy on the powerup bars. 4 energy - 1 energy to summon monster = 0 energy? What the heck?

I was really hoping to like this game (Epic War 1-3 were great), but there are far too many things about it that just cause me to lose interest.
- Generic MMOG (what is the end goal?)
- Poor translations
- The energy bar (just a bottleneck to playing the game)
- Gratuitously expensive in-game currency ($100 for 15,000 crystal? really?)
- No selling items! What am I supposed to do with 4 guidebooks? Even a fraction of the 24,000 gold I could buy them for would go really far toward unlocking stuff at level 12.
- Actual battles are reasonably "epic", but also a serious grind. 4x/8x button please?
- No targeting of hero spells
- Unbalanced gameplay... ranged units are very overpowered (in part due to no spell targeting)

omg broken. if you push the enemy back to fast they spam ranged and keep you at bay untill everything of your is dead then you get hit by like 10000 fricking fireballs or arrows!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The unit limit is set so low that you can easily get battles with each side sittong on 90+ archers and neither can output enough DPS to actually kill units faster than the enemy summons them. So you sit and watch arrows/fireballs/whatever fly back and forth for 10 minutes on lines that never move until you get to the lose screen. What an exciting game....

when i first saw this game i was like epic war 5/5 i hope its better then EW five mins playing 4/5 another five mins 3/5 then 1/5 whats happening to EW the games after EW 4 are getting worse and worse ,sorry epic war i've lost faith in you

The fact that an army of sharkmen against an army of ranged fire units loses horribly proves you still never, ever want to play anything that isn't ranged.

*READ* The energy it takes to make a unit shouldnt take away all your energy. Like if i have a unit that takes 1 to create it shouldnt take all my energy to make.

*Patiently builds up his monster bar, and spends it all on a single wave of hobbits* -_-; Thanks game...thanks for that...

Pretty awful. You play the exact same mission thousands of times, there are almost no mechanics that favor any tactical changes and melee units are absolutely useless. Every missions is incredibly easy but time consuming that you get little of that replay satisfaction you get from grinding games. I enjoy the RPG elements that have been added but if the gameplay itself is so one dimensional you can't retain users.

Too randomly complicated. Beating level 1 five times is stupid when my level 1 un-upgraded army van beat the 3rd mission easily. All the "combination items" make 0 sense and look to be geared to "premium users" only
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It seems that players only need to replay the same mission again and again.. it's too boring that it is no different and no challenge (3/5)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Disappointed with the energy limits and consumption. Would be a much better game if I could just play instead of having to wait for the energy bar to refill after a few battles.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I have to play a mission 25 times to master it? But if I can beat it once, it's easy, it's mindless boredom! Can I have an 8x speed?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Whyever do people get this game a rating this high? I have to doubt whether these ratings are really made by people or not just faked...

Melee units in this game are basically useless. hero attacks (at least the basic ones) are too - you USED to be able to control where the giant volcano erupted. now it's just sitting in front of the hero. completely useless skill when no one uses melee units, since they die so quickly. poorly balanced game. When there's only one right solution to a level, it ceases to be strategy - it's just a puzzle game then.
