I wound up having to look up the combinations... some of them don't work, for example, fire+energy is supposed to equal plasma... but does not here.

I'm just trying everything with everything else, but that gets unmanageable later on. I'm just going to look up a guide later and try all combinations.

This game is just making combinations over and over again. At first it's appealing, but it quickly loses that edge and just become monotonous pairing and failing. Got a new element, better just click it against everything else and then repeat that for anything else that is new.

Fun game but after a while the solutions become really counterintuitive so you end up just looking it up or trying every single combination.
