And last revivew-- The reason I liked the last game was because you could move around. You had turrets, but it wasn't side-scrolling and you could control where you went and when you went there. Also sending enemies flying into lakes and stuff was a nice touch. But this is just another one of those lame overdrive bullet-hell plane shooters, which are fine, but you're using the fame of the first game--which was a completely different genre-- to boost this game. 2/5 because I had a very small amount of fun for the first three seconds.

People (like me) are annoyed with (not hating) the game because the plane dynamic is very, Very much different from the original's mech pilot ground-based game. I think we had a reasonable expectation that the sequel would be similar game-play. Instead we were blind-sided with a plane game. I'm not saying said plane game is crap, but it does NOT feel like a Mechanical Commando sequel to me at all. The gameplay was 90% of what made the original cool. We have very little of that in this game.

Damn, I liked the first one but the lack of grammar in the description almost made me cry. Hope the in-game dialogue is better... Nope. =/

The original Mechanical Commandos were better....this game is too fast-paced and everything is moving at the same time. First level is also very hard to beat.

Hey! They are invading our sooper sekrets planet with tanks and lazors n stuff. what should we fight them with? A plane from the 1950's!

I think that the effects in this game is way too much. You should consider putting a warning for people that have epilepsy

The best thing you can have in this game are the homing weapons. They save you A LOT of trouble, both with bosses and small fry.

YMMV, but my experience of the difficulty was that although the first two levels required a little too much grinding, the difficulty from level 3 onwards was perfect for me, requiring 2-3 plays per level. (Except, bizarrely enough, for the final level, which I beat on the first try.)

Guys, stop whining. The game isn't that difficult. I'll admit I had problems at the first level, but after I realized I could fire rockets as well, I beat the mission with health to spare. PROTIP: Shotgun + Homing Rockets + Azote Chilling System = Easy Mode.
As for criticism, I hate bosses 2 and 3. Since they're so huge, when you hit them, the entire screen blinks. That's really annoying, since it makes dodging bullets tougher and may cause seizures.

It was pretty brilliant. reminds me of the old arcade games, however what I don't like about this i the ships that go from behind. it's irritating for a player to get surprised by them and will almost guarantee that to pass that level you need to retry it many times to know where those surprise atacks are.

It's all well and good people whinging about the difficulty. And it's fine for people to come back at them with a smug "Well, you should try harder". But this game is taking the proverbial. The levels are far too long, and there's a difference between challenging and just non stop ridiculousness. And worst of all, for a "Bullet Hell" type game, the hit detection area is FAR too large! It's most of the ship! A nice game it seems, but considering I'm still on level 2 (no checkpoints), I can't be certain.

4/5 because it is great but the 1st level just takes way too long. Make it the first level a bit easier and you'll get 5/5
