Finally another turn-based RPG comes out. It's a good game, but after 30 minutes I can't handle anymore grinding. It's a shame. These are the best types of games there are and they don't come around too often.

seriously get rid of them being able to block just take way too fkn long also pay for extra games are not worth it if its a flash game people donate to flash game they like, it shouldn't be like blizzard or other big game companies as flash games can't compete 2/5

Cuts off 1 guys leg, and his friends arm... croud wants mercy... there gonna die from bloodloss and/or infection... so the croud actualy wants them to suffer longer?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Looks like it's going to be either really easy because you've spent the money to cheat, basically, or impossible/extremely time consuming to get to the next level. Sorry, I'm out.

So when you go to buy a gladiator it has stats for them, but when you buy the person they are all 10s except the male/female bonus. I bought the more expensive one with better stats of course, hosed lol

@Zenick, I've found that if you kill (disembowel/behead) most of your opponents, the crowd will ask for death for the rest of them. No idea what happens when you kill them all though.

Going straight from fighting a single level-2 enemy to fighting two level-3 enemies seems a bit too large of a ramp up to me...

Suggestion: When using a two-handed weapon, the second weapon slot should become a place to put a one-handed back-up weapon to be used in case the gladiator loses one arm, like a knife strapped to his shin, you know? Seems a good gladiator would be prepared like that.

karyuudan, so you want they make totally free games for you? it take much time to make a game, they have to earn something dude... you guys should be more understanding.

Also, the recruitable heroes all seem to be the same in terms of skills (all seem to have about +9 if you use 11 as the standard), similar health, damage, armor, etc, yet they are ranging from 613 to 966. There seems to have been no effort put into creating the slaves that we can recruit, with stats randomly generated and prices increasing, even though the hero does not actually improve.

I don't think the "pay system" interferred with the game at all. It took me a little while to build my team of three people, but once I did, I was rocking the game so hard I didn't really slow down. I really love the replayability, since you can keep adding more people to your team to try better combos, and the random loot drop system. Great bloody brutal fun.

I have to agree with most people here, the game is a tedious grind to acquire gold as all the drops are worthless. And as many others pointed out, I do not enjoy pay to play games and will never pay for them online. Maybe if this was the best gladiator game ever, but it's a long ways from that. It's closer to one of my least favorites in its current form.

It is annoying how multiple times the inventory refresh results in no body armor! I felt like I had to wait and wait to buy some. Also, the stats for one of my gladiators changed when I purchased them...

gods people, this is NOT how you get people to play your hame. Its fun and all, but your obsession with money is infurating. Its ok if you want to charge for your game, but this "Free to play: Pay to win" thing is not acceptable

Back in those times, Mercy would be a complete rarity. In this game, its completely reversed. At least make it 50/50, if not realistic. Anyways, great game, if not a little slow.

Great game..... i have to say i disagree with most of the top comments.... A- Yes, you CAN sell your unwanted loot. B- Hey Bezserk Has to make money too.... in this kind of economic state, who doesn't? C- _.- No shit it takes a while to chip through armor... its ARMOR, Anyways... there are easy tricks to defeat armor... D- Money/equip getting.... OF COURSE it would be hard! YOU go back to those times and try to get armor easily -.- Plus even looking as a game value, it makes it more fun and strategic.... i had no problems getting new armor and weapons... no shortage of gold here. 10/10 for this Well made game. its not to say it is perfect... but it doesnt have many flaws either...

Wow. I was about to play but when I noticed the dark skin included oversized lips I had to swap games. Big fan of bezerk studios but it's 2012.

Announcer: "The crowd goes wild, the challenger has smashed the resident gladiator's leg clean off! What's this? The challenger can't seem to hit the other leg. Now that small wound he took at the start has become fatal and incapacitated him. The one-legged gladiator runs up to him and smashes his brains out!"

Also, would be nice to have an 'auto-complete' option on combat once it's basically determined. A 'surrender' option would be nice as well.

In Marsillia, enemy Titan's Band. first i cut the male gladiator's head of. Then i started to hit again and a new head summoned, then i killed him once more but that was not enough and my auto warriors started to kill him the 3rd time and succeeded :p

Am I just missing it, or is there instructions you can go back and read? I need to know what the difference between the two spots for you gladiators is because I wasn't paying attention the first time it was mentioned because I couldn't afford a gladiator yet...

This one thing was really annoying: When I was in the Coliseum menu, I went to click on the tab in the scroll bar to look at some of the opponents, and the "Support Berzerk!" button kept getting clicked on instead. I guess it's because the area for the Facebook link is larger than it should be and overlaps the scroll bar at that one spot.

Here's a thought: go multiplayer with this game. While I'm not a fan of the multiplayer genre, the play style of this game might work if you took that direction. Keep your campaign mode, add some PvP fights. Probably need some re-adjustments of awards in those PvP fights. Really, the game is so long and a grind push that without PvP I can't see the point anyway. You even have a timer implemented for the reset of shop items and gladiator hires. Who is that timer for? I don't need to wait around for no reason, but within a multiplayer game that timer would make sense. I don't often resort to the "make it multiplayer" card when it comes to commentary, but this game's development process seems half way there to a multiplayer possibility.
