There seems to be a glitch. Sometimes when my guys are on auto-mode they attack a gladiator that is already defeated.

Don't put all your points into defense on a tank char...the block rate gets so high that doing a normal block well doesn't block anymore.

npc gladiators need to be tweaked. Noticing in Catharge that they are using skills not attainable at thier gladiator levels.

At first glance, this is a pretty awesome game, but the longer you play it, the more issues become apparent. The "auto" option is essentially useless, it simply allows you to watch your soldiers attack their downed oppenents repeatedly as healthy opponents literally tear them apart. Money is grossly imbalanced with slaves being so expensive that the purchase of any slave above level 3 econmically innefective (the number of battles it takes to get the money for a level 4 fighter will raise an existing or cheaper one to level 5-6). Buying weapons isn't really a choice till town 2, at which point money becomes worthless, as each battle pays out more and more. By halfway through town 2, you will realize that there is no variance. you will just fight three more dudes, with slightly better equipment, for the next 5 hours. This game is not beyond hope, but a total balance redesign (and maybe 1 boss per city) would be necessary for anything more than a 1/5.

How to get money the easy way:
1. Buy a level one gladiator from the first city
2. Don't spend any money on gear, just have it in the party with your two best gladiators and hand it dropped gear.
3. Level it up and sell it at the slave auction
4. ??????????????????????
5. Profit
Can also be done just starting three new ones. a level 1 is like 500 gold and a level 9 sells for around 3500. Easy 3k gold.

the "reduce wound effect" skill seems to have no effect. 10 pts in it and my fighters lose the same % of hp each turn as if they had 0...

I like this game a lot, I got about halfway through and wanted to delete my game and start over with new people but now all of the goals that i had done are already complete and I dont want to grind all of the money or pay. Also shield blocking gets way to overpowered. 3/5 :(

The concept of the game is great, however, the speed of the game is way too slow...I don't sure if that's only my problem, it took me a few days to only finish the first city...endlessly farming gold and equipment, I mean, after you finished all of these excruciating farming process, would you still called it interesting? Absolutely no, at least for me.

@karma cat the combo x2 skill adds an insignificant amount of damage... 10/10 i hit around 180-190 with 5/10 around 160-170

I apologize for the double post, but I felt I should clarify. You don't get the bonuses from the goals, and you aren't able to get them again. so say you effectively beat the game and wanted to start over completely. The second time through, you would have to do it without any of the bonuses from the goals, because you would be incapable of getting them again, because progress on them carries over even when you "wipe all progress", so they are marked as cleared on that new person without you getting the reward. This should probably be fixed.

resetting character progress, (wiping your save) does not reset goals. This means ANY new character started will NOT get the bonuses from goals completed on a previous character. Nor will they get the benefits from liking BerzerkStudios, or be able to like them again. These bonuses should either carry over between people, or reset along with everything else.

The "Shield Bash" ability allows my person to block for 3 turns but after 1 turn he stops blocking. Can u please fix this problem.

Good Game. Almost completed 50%. However the slave market's prices gets exponentially high for every new city. You should seriously consider re-doing the prices.

Has anyone figured out how to get the "Win combat without losing gladiator(s)" achievements? I have won several battles without dying, but it is not working.

That was amazing when I CHOPPED this gladiator's LEG OFF, I fell to the ground from bleeding so he decided to run up on TWO legs and kill me 0.o

I've completed a mission (the third one of Tarsus city) but it still doesn't have been completed for the game.... maybe it's a bug

Great game. I really don't have a problem with the gold thing, I mean you can actually sell the items you loot for a good bit, and you're gladiators not emperor of Rome getting rich. Great game guys! One tip is too actually put stats on the skills, so I can see why I should put more than one point into a certain skill. Like the dmg increase, etc.

man, the AI swings from smart to stupid a lot. one round they are hitting semi randomly, another they are focusing their strikes and dropping your gladiators in one turn...

i like this kind of games. good job overall but i have a few complaints.
there's no use in buying other slaves after you have already bought 3, make so that if slave dies in battle he/she dies for good so i could make a good use of slavers. to balance this add some health potions
I dislike current skill system, takes too long to get new skill, it skills should unlock based on levels not by how many sp you have invested in them(at least lower sp requirements for next tier skill)
also, skills should say what they do and what they will do on next level(sonny 2 is a good example of skill system)
add skip move button.
add fast forward button for auto play

I see a lot of complaints against blocking enemies but no one has advised as to how to deal with it. First if the blocking was reduced the skill tree would be mostly useless since it seriously lacks offensive power. Also having a Murmillo on your team using protect makes it a lot easier to fight enemies 10 levels higher then you which is what is going to happen in Rome. I was level 46 and my opponents 60 in the last few battles. So the blocking is fine. How you handle a murmillo is easy. You have 2 choices. You can either use a provocatores and intimidate all his MP away OR you can make sure you are faster than he is and disable his SHIELD arm. You can't block without a shield.

one of tarsus goals not working well that one win without losing a gladiator. cause even then all my glads are standing and others are defeated yet alive and with mercy still no reward.

An interesting concept, but in most fights, the game boils down to crippling one enemy's leg/arm, depending on if the enemy can throw or not, and then just moving on to the next enemy while the previous one bleeds out. This kind of repetition gets in the way of having truly entertaining battles. With some improvements, I could really get into this game, but as it exists now, it just winds up feeling too repetitive to really enjoy.

If you have your legs disabled, you can still use skills such as throw which is almost always a critical hit doing huge damage. A simple tactic is to find out which one the terrible AI will focus, and just buff his vit and def in addition to a high block shield. Have him learn the shield bash skill and maybe other skills in that tree. The AI will focus him every fight and just have your other 2 be glass cannons or support.

i think the goals for cities should change... or there could be a set of diferent challenges that change (like a job list or bounty board)
