Updated: Awesome way to suicide the cheapest way with no major power elements: 1) get some heat 2) put exchanger 3) put another exchanger connected to first one 4) put ventilation near second exchanger. watch KABOOOM!

I have 2 suggestions.
1. I think that saveable designs would be nice, so you can save and compare designs that are different, like inderect cooling vs. direct cooling etc.
2. A second "tab" would be nice, where you can build experimental designs while the the reactor in the first tab generates money. The "experimental" tab should not be able to generate money. Just so that you can work on something, while your current top notch design generates money.
I Like thos game very much, although I think that there are still big balancing issues, like the heat exchanger. Although it now can transfer more heat than before the upgrade, it's still better tu use direct cooling an go completely without exchangers. That's ab bit sad. Still rating 5/5 ^^ .

@jeoc: I first had to design the ideal grid for myself, utilizing your version while not yet understanding it. By doing so, I then understood your design (as mine became identical to yours) and confirmed that your design is optimal. The only thing I assume you took into account is that if you add another structure containing two double nefastium cells, the heat vents would be too weak because of there being too little plating. If this is the case, one could probably somehow mathematically prove that your design is optimal.

A stat panel depicting how much power we are generating, how much heat we are generating, and the amount of heat we can remove at any given time would be nice. Also a count of how many of each type of cell we have.

Considering the recent upgrade, please also modify the manual heat venting, cause 1M is practically useless now that the heat can reach billions :P

This game truely deserves 5/5! Not only have i enjoyed playing it the last few days but also the devs really cares and brings us frequent updates!

http://imgur.com/sq3kse9 I think this is an optimal fully-idle layout with the current version. This gets 40 dual nefastium, and 39 neutron reflectors supporting 2 dual nefastium each, for 59.5 dual nefastium equivalent. I can't find any layouts that get more than 59.5 dual nefastium equivalent.

I feel that heat exchangers and batteries get no love. Make them more useful and they would be a more useful and used component for building designs.
Also suggesting - Wires

Heat exchangers need a buff, they can't keep up at all with the amount that vents can get rid of. Either you buff the Heat Exchangers, or you buff the amount that vents can hold, so that the Heat exchangers actually put enough heat into the vents so they can vent the heat out.

Suggestion: There should be two types of heat conductors. One spreading heat only between parts, and second one exchanging heat between parts and hull. This would make building reactors with vents only much simpler

This game was balanced by either kindergartners or by throwing darts at a board of numbers... *Thunk* Okay this level of vents will reduce 39 heat this level is .. *Thunk* 621! Well.. I'm going to have to add more numbers to my board.. (4 days of hanging up numbers later) *Thunk* and the final level of exchangers can move... wtf only 231k? But my top end cells produce over 100mil heat. Ohh well fffDuck balancing and fffDuck players, the darts rule all.
Balance is an ongoing issue. That being said, the fact that heat exchangers can only move 231k a tick means you just need to be a bit more creative in your reactor design.

I don't understand why it costs so much to upgrade the lowest/lower tiered fuel cells. What is the point in spending 100 million for the highest upgrade if the cell itself will only top out at 84?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Heat vents capacity need to be increased when you increase their effectiveness. They can't be fully utilized as it seems that exchangers wont put more heat in it that it can hold. Also we need a way to improve heat exchangers.

wanted to see what happens if you go too high on your heat places 9 quadrant cells... EVERYTHING DIES man, i was coin pretty good too
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
why do i keep misbuilding things and i notice the advanced heat vent has lowered in power and is still the same price
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
http://prntscr.com/5ynrcm thats my set up you could probably make a better design, there are, in my case, too many capacitors so you could free up some room there.

I wish shift-click would replace cells with the new cells - it doesn't for me, dunno if it's my pc or it's a bug or whatever.
I can't replace my Double Plutonium cells with Double Thorium cells - they make up half the board and take a long time to replace :(
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
ok... if i place ONLY a coolant cell and a heat exchanger, my temperature rises. so confused... although i like the new values on everything
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
How to replace all coolant cells in second: 1) Select a lower tier Coolant cell 2) Shift left click the placed coolant cells while the game is paused in order to replace them with the lower tier cell 3) Click the higher tier cell again and shift+left click the lower tier cells on the board.
You're welcome.

Is it just me or are most of the power/length upgrades pointless unless you buy them for the sole purpose of having them in case you screw up and destroy everything?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
So, SHIFT-LEFTCLICK replaces all the items you're clicking on with whatever item you have selected. I don't see this mentioned anywhere. What I *thought* it did was replenish empty fuel cells (since that's what I had selected). After building up the reactor, I shift-clicked to replenish my old cells. Nope, replaced them all with the newer (hotter) cells. This caused everything in the entire reactor to explode, basically resetting the game. So, I'm done with this game forever, and this message is just a warning so that others don't make my same mistake.

Here's my reactor. It can run 60 nef cells without any issues, and 60 dual nef cells once i finish upgrading the heat platings to max. It has 5 fail safes that if something were to go wrong, it further increases the time you have. http://imgur.com/4xFn2sN (i spent a lot of money on maxing my platings by mistake so cant buy full nef cells again, you can use T4 plating fully and T4 capacitors to run the single nef cells just fine. I got a bit hasty with my T5s XD.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Nice to see this coming along, if with the recent updates i hold my heat at near critical while this is great can you ensure if you make any reductions to the cooling efficiency formulas that the update pauses the game so i have a chance to change my reactor without it blowing up while i am offline.

2) Because the concept of differential cooling is counterintuitive, its getting many to scream "bug!" when they see non-zero heat levels. What about a compromise where all components in the reactor 'magically' lose 0.01% of their maximum heat every tick? That way the reactor will 'magically' cool down to zero in a finite amount of time (10000 ticks). I suggest this is added as an upgrade labelled "Magical cooling", With the tooltip "The laws of physics no longer apply to your reactor, all components cool linearly for 0.01% of their max heat every tick until they reach 0" :-)
3) Different game modes and/or difficulty levels. That might be the only way to satisfy everyone.
