Love the suggestion further down for casualties per explosion. Dark twists on games are fun. It's always interesting to see a game actively built on and developed. Keep up the good work, dev!

The quad nefastium cell seems impossible to have in your reactor since it produces more than 1.5T of heat and the max heat an heat exchanger is capable of tranfering is :72B, and even by using 4 of then it would not be enough, and even 4 ultimate cooling cells only holds 16T each, i mean that even if u use everything u can it's no possible to keep thosse in the reactor for a good amount of time. But i found a way, u must use 30+ heat outlets and using as max as you can ultimate heat vents so maybe it would hold 1 Quad nefastuim cell, wich is so frustrating...

Interesting game. Needs offline mode. My current income is 1.77T per tick. I only use vents, capacitors and cells. Everything else is a waste of space at the moment.

found a slight exploit.. if you have a heat inlet|Fan|Heat outlet, the heat is just cycled and the reactor heat never rises. i have nothing cooling my reactor directly. it overheats like mad when I don't have the inlets (the fans heat up and explode causing a meltdown)

@vizthex use the adjacent power cell bonuses to get going early on in the game. 5 of the single uranium cells directly next to each other will give you good power and manageable heat.

Here's my 100% idle 23.2T per tick build: http://screencast.com/t/F9GpikcpEAz
I can't see how I can possibly hit quad nefs unless I just idle for a super long time to get the vent/capacitor upgrades or straight vent upgrades.

would be fun if fuel cells distribute heat differently. instead of heat going only to reactor or occupied sides, set them to radiate a percent to each side; for any unoccupied side, that portion of heat goes to the reactor. would give more flexibility to combine direct/indirect cooling. VARIANTS: 1) occupied sides get 25%, reactor gets what's left. 2) occupied sides get 20%, reactor gets 20% + what's left (reactor always gets some heat, requires some indirect cooling in all builds). 3) occupied sides get 20%, reactor gets 20% + what's left; reactor never gets more than 80%. if all sides unoccupied, fuel cell stores the remaining 20% (have to add heat storage to fuel cells). 4) add an exception for heat exchangers/inlets allowing them to override percentages and move as much heat from fuel cells as the exchangers/inlets would otherwise be capable of (so, high-powered exchanger next to a fuel cell could actively take 100% of the cell's heat, rather than passively accepting 20 or 25%).

A suggestion. When your reactor blows you get a message about number of local casualties with the quantity increasing with amount of peak heat.

an option to scale the bigger inlets/outlets would be nice (to accept/give out a certain amount of heat) so that I can better control how hot my reactor gets ( to help make more power) and control the flow of heat better

You need a vents that are able to remove at least 104B/tick for double nefs. Before double nefs you can use 6 vents+2 singles * X build as well , for those you need vents that can put out about 70B/tick

24 Nefastium singles is the best I can get at the moment. I have to still figure out a concotion that helps me get through the doubles...

All capactiors except for several power generating units consisting of 4 vents and one cell. In my version 18 of them, generating 25T/tick being cold. Whats the point of all those other modules ???

I feel like I wasted a lot of time, til I realized that the fuel does not need to be cooled directly. I know that this is an abstraction, but I was working from a layperson's understanding of a reactor. I have a build with no coolant, no heat inlets, and no exchangers near the fuel. Just fuel cells, reflectors for power generation, surrounded by plating for no particular reason, other than I need the plating for the upgrades and basic heat sink. Have you considered a build where the fuel needs cooled directly?

Can you make it so we still earn power/money even if the tab is closed ? because the game literally burns up all my RAM making me unable to do anything else while I earn money. I know it would also mean that the system can explode while we aren't there but, it adds a challenge : Making a durable system that won't explode no matter how many years we leave it alone.

To all those people wishing for balanced components: This is simply impossible, or rather game-breaking. Were the vents, for example, scaled to vent exactly the heat a quad cell produces, there would be no inventing and re-inventing new systems. Everyone would just build the same pattern, i.e. alternating between vents and cells. Only if there is imbalance, there is the fun of trying new things and improving old things. Everything else would be just maths. The team of “Extra Credits” on YouTube have elaborated on this topic in their episode “Perfect Imbalance”, if you’re interested.

So I made a design that puts the cells so that all their heat is dumped into the reactor and I have Heat Outlets so the heat gets put into my Heat Vents. Then I noticed that the heat isn't being distributed evenly between all the Outlets, it seems that all the heat is being ticked to random Outlets instead of it being a collective force. Would love for it to be collective since that seems like more of what was intended.

i have 2 suggestions. 1. make it possible to downgrade the upgrades, for better self-balance.
2. the heat outlet/heat vent- balance is way off, at the same upgradelevel the outlet puts out 4x the heat the vents or the exchangers can handle, which makes the highest tier nearly unuseable

For now I guess a save slot 2 for iron-man or speed run mode (wipe save as soon as meltdown happens, or only runs for 24hr then all fuel stop to produce power) would be nice

A bank account that accrues interest would be great. or even just one you can set to add a percentage of money too, since i some times blow up everything and have to wait for ages to get back to nef
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
If you can get around to it, I would find a stats page super helpful, something that summerizes the upgrades you've bought and their effects and how many of each thing you have placed or something like that. Really enjoying the added puzzle aspect of this game, very fun!!!

Do the heat vent upgrades work? I had ultimate heat vent sinking 22.6 B heat per tick, and after an +100% upgrade it's sinking 22.6 B. What am I doing wrong?

In case you were wondering, if your reactor overheats it blows up all the buildings you have but lets you keep everything else
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Cant you make so if you have green cells and want blue.. but you are to tired to erase every damn cell på shift right click and put back every i wish you can do so if you press shift even with diffrent cells you put new cells
cause when you come up and have a big factory.. you have alots of cells.. it takes alot of time to put every cell on its place again...

Is there any reason to have all tiles of the same size? E.g.: Imagine a heat exchanger (1x2 or even 1x3) that cools down at one end and heats up the other!

Two Suggestion: 1. Make an "Relay" upgrade that make certain components works only in a given (selected by the user) temperature range. 2. Since Heat exchangers doesnt transmit heat to reactor anymore its hard to keep temperature equilibrated at a given range, give to the players more control over this!
